Cara Delevingne a rather outspoken voice for feminism made these comments in an interview with Empire Magazine issue 314.

“There are only three girls in ['Suicide Squad’] but in my opinion they have the best roles,” she said. “Generally though, superhero movies are totally sexist.

"Female superheroes are normally naked or in bikinis. No-one would be able to fight like that. Wonder Woman, how the hell does she fight? She would be dead in a minute.”

It’s interesting that she went after the Movies and not the comics themselves, and that she chose to focus on Wonder Women which is a important property for the movie universe she has become part of.

She also talked about her role as the Enchantress and the character’s ability to control minds.  When asked is this the type of superpowers she would like to have.  Delevingne answered:  “No, I think I’d rather be able to anybody or anything, I guess. "That’s kind of the ultimate acting superpower, and of course that’s like Mystique in 'X-Men’, but as well I’d like to be a tree if I wanted to, or a paper clip.”

Delevingne is currently in the middle of filming Suicide Squad to be released August 5, 2016.

Wonder Woman wouldn't be dead quick. She wears less so not to slow down her movement. If you look at ancient history the Spartans had pretty much nothing on at all. The reason why they wanted to run faster and it helped with fighting, be it a sword or spear. So I don't get why people would get real angry with that. Plus I never hear people get mad at woman who wear a bikini on the beach, so why is it a problem if someone wants to fight with more or less clothes on?

I mean as a straight man, I don't mind how they are drawn. I mean hell comic book artists draw as much fine looking women as they do muscular men but you don't see Batman or Spider-Man barely wearing any clothes.

Yeah she's right, actually. The same one's who disagree with her usually will be the one's to complain about Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman etc. (I won't go into why)

Can't talk about the SS girls roles, cause we know nothing about the movie yet, She's 100% correct about the rest tho and you're a deluded fanboy if you think otherwise.

I'd like to point out, Dan Slott created a female character recently who has nothing interesting about her and all she has done is [frick] Peter in Silk.

So yea Cara has a point.

Yea, comics are so sexist, yet women love to dress promiscuously everywhere you go.
SuperiorMrGod

Plain and simple, if you think the comic genre doesn't over sexualize women you're an idiot or you've never read a comic book from the 90s.

@Ramiel

Right, but they aren't in danger of there life and constantly being in different climates which would require a long sleeve at the least.

Is you're point that since SOME women dress promiscuously so should CB characters?

Women in comics are indeed oversexualized but they still want to get the horny people reading too so I understand.

Speaking of horny, I'd smash Cara in an instant if given the chance.

"Female superheroes are normally naked or in bikinis. No-one would be able to fight like that. Wonder Woman, how the hell does she fight? She would be dead in a minute.”

Read this again, inferring based on the contextual clues.

1) Wonder women hasn't had a movie and the bikini remark prior made me think she was referring to her comic costume in which she wears a bikini.

2) "Female Superheroes" being the main words here for me. There hasn't been many female Superheroes that dress promiscuously in movies

So I just concluded that she was talking about comics in general. I could be wrong

Maybe she means in comics but as far as I'm aware in the films, the costumes are generally changed. I mean, Mockingird and Scarlet Witch's costumes were changed when they came into the MCU. Mockingbird has a tac suit resembling a mix of a normal SHIELD uniform and Black Widow's suit. Scarlet Witch wears a red dress, unlike the leotard she wears in the comics.

And, the majority of men in the comics and movies wear trench coats?

I get it, I do, I get what she's saying, but it's the same for guys in a lot of ways

But, yeah, she has a point

But, not really

But, kind of
