Common Reveals His SUICIDE SQUAD Role
Since it was announced that Common had joined the cast of David Ayer's Suicide Squad back in April of last year fans have been speculating about which DC character he could be playing, and in a new video interview the actor/musician just comes right out with it! Check it out...
So, is he Bronze Tiger? Tattooed Man? John Stewart?? Nope - turns out Common is playing a character named Monster T, who is "in business with The Joker".
As far as we can tell this isn't an established DC character and has been created just for the Suicide Squad film, but that remains to be seen. The relevant chatter comes in around the 3-minue mark in the video, which also features Ice Cube confirming once and for all that he is not in the new Spider-Man movie.
It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, with Raymond Olubawale as King Shark, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Adam Beach as Slipknot. Directed by David Ayer.
Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5, 2016.
