David Ayer Debunks SUICIDE SQUAD Rumor Concerning Reshoots For Humor

Following the release of Suicide Squad's insane, new trailer, David Ayer has taken to social media to debunk those rumors that Warner Bros. made him schedule reshoots to add more humor.

Birth.Movies.Death reported roughly two weeks ago that Warner Bros.' disappointment over the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's box office performance prompted the studio to schedule reshoots for David Ayer's Suicide Squad to inject more humor into the film.  The initial report from BMD also stated that the few jokes featured in the first trailer releasedy by WB actually contained all of the jokes in the film.  Well that certainly isn't true as  the release of the new Suicide Squad trailer clearly refuted that portion of the report.

Complicating matters further, were social media remarks from an on-set crew member who stated that WB was forcing Ayer to do the reshoots.

Well, the Fury director has decided to clear all the rumors up himself.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on  August 5, 2016.

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, with Raymond Olubawale as King Shark, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Adam Beach as Slipknot. Directed by David Ayer.

@Omega - ...and you must be naive to think that such a tweet was not first approved, if not partially censored,by the studio this director is currently working under.

Didn't one of the cast members awhile back say the movie had a lot of humor in it and didn't look as dark as the first trailer?

If someone asked me what I'd want more of in my DC Comics movie, I'd say "More Batman" too.
