Rick Ross and Skrillex May Have Conjured Up Something SUICIDE SQUAD Related
Skrillex revealed a track this weekend that features plenty of references to the upcoming super villain film from DC and Warner Bros. Check it out.
We know that Oscar-winning composer Steven Price (Gravity, Fury) is scoring David Ayer's Suicide Squad, but now we may have a hint at what else might be on the soundtrack. Electronic music producer Skrillex debuted a collaboration with rapper Rick Ross laced with Suicide Squad references at WAV Nightclub last weekend. Take a listen:
The lyrics are difficult to fully make out in this video, but I hear "Suicide Squad", "Gotham City," "Killer Croc," and "purple Lamborghini," among other things.
The song sounds like a possibility for the title or end credits. With marketing expected to ramp up for the film in the coming months (expect new footage this weekend), it could just be a part of a promotional tie-in. Or maybe it's not a part of the project at all!
Quentin Tarantino and Jamie Foxx previously brought Rick Ross into the fold for Django Unchained and "100 Black Coffins." Skrillex, meanwhile, has worked on films like Spring Breakers and Wreck-It-Ralph.
What do you think? I'm waiting for the Common and Fresh Prince collab.
Suicide Squad opens in theaters August 5, 2016.
