RUMOR: Warner Bros. Mulling SUICIDE SQUAD Spinoffs For Captain Boomerang, The Joker, And More

We already know that Harley Quinn is getting her own movie following the release of Suicide Squad this August, but it turns out that she's far from the only Task Force X member Warner Bros. are high on...

All the signs are currently pointing to Suicide Squad being a hit, but the same could be said for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice a few months back, and we all know how divisive that ended up being. However, with a Harley Quinn movie already in the works, it appears as if Warner Bros. are already considering spinoffs for other key characters based on a new report from We Got This Covered

The studio is apparently very confident in Suicide Squad and are under the belief that it will be a critical and commercial hit this summer. As a result, there's talk of other Task Force X members getting solo outings: "The Joker is a definite possibility for a spinoff, and Jared [Leto] seems up for it from what I’ve been told. They’re also really hot on Jai Courtney’s character Boomerang right now. Nothing’s set in stone yet, but you’re definitely going to be seeing a lot more of these guys in the years to come."

We've already heard that Deadshot and The Joker will more than likely show up in The Batman, so it's clear that there are already some plans being put in place for these characters. While it's obviously early days, it's easy to imagine at least a handful of this movie's fan-favourites getting their own movies somewhere down the line, but much of that is going to hinge on the reaction to Suicide Squad

So, as with any rumour, take this with a pinch of salt for now. Assuming these spinoffs do get greenlit, which villains do you think are most deserving of a movie of their own? Let us know in the usual place.

Some of these characters would fit better in an HBO show. Similar to how Marvel is handling their Netflix characters.

@Kr08 - Yes! I would love a high-budget epic HBO series set in Gotham!

@Kr08 - Especially Katanna, but she'll probably end up dying. Boomerang would be fun to see in a series. I expect him to pop back up in Arrow Season 5 in some way.

@Kr08 - Hell yes. An HBO series centered around these characters would rock. I'd love to see a "Hitman" show too, that would be awesome. I'm not sure about a solo Joker movie though, as much as I'd love to see it, I feel like it could be overkill for the character. I definitely want to see the Joker in multiple movies in the DCEU though, without a doubt, and I'm happy it sounds like Leto is onboard.

I cannot [frick]ing wait for Suicide Squad.

I would die if they gave Captain Boomerang his own movie before the [frick]ing New Gods.

They should put some of these on Netflix.

@LaserKing - Naw, let marvel have netflix. WB should consider HULU or HBO.
