Deadline reports that Steve Agee, who will be seen in The Suicide Squad next summer, has now joined the cast of HBO Max's Peacemaker TV series. The actor plays King Shark in James Gunn's DC Comics movie, but will also be seen in his human form as John Economos; as you might expect, it's the latter he will be bringing to life on the small screen.
As the trade explains, "The character is a warden of Belle Reve Federal Penitentiary and an aide to Viola Davis’ government character Amanda Waller."
The eight-episode series will star John Cena and is written and (partially) directed by James Gunn. The character will be part of Task Force X in The Suicide Squad, and it seems the claims that the former WWE Superstar steals the show were accurate if he's worthy of his own TV show.
Gunn will write all eight episodes and helm the first instalment, along with a number of others, before working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for Marvel Studios.
Agee is no stranger to working with Gunn, and his credits include Brightburn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and New Girl. His involvement in Peacemaker appears to confirm that we'll be spending some time with the character either immediately before the events of The Suicide Squad or soon after.
