Love and Monsters premieres at home and in select theaters on October 16th from Paramount Pictures, and takes place seven years after the "Monsterpocalypse." Humanity has been forced to hide underground, but Joel (Dylan O'Brien) decides to embark on a dangerous mission to reunite with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick) after reconnecting with her over the radio. However, with dangerous monsters standing in his way, their reunion isn't going to be an easy one.

Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and Ariana Greenblatt (Avengers: Infinity War) are also part of the cast, and we recently caught up with the former to discuss his role in the movie.

We'll bring you that tomorrow, but while we had the legendary actor on the phone, we had to ask about his role in The Suicide Squad. Aware that he's likely unable to say too much about the secretive DC Comics project, we wondered what it is that Savant brings to this team of villains.

"Savant bring everything to this team...but how do you know they're villains?" Rooker responded. "How do you know Savant or any of these guys are villains? These guys are...they're tough, okay, but villains I don't know. Maybe in the past they were villains because it's Suicide Squad. It's basically the same idea, but it's a totally different set up, man."

Could it that instead of being made up of villains, this Task Force X roster is searching for redemption? Rooker wouldn't say, but he did tell us this: "It's really different, and Savant brings...hair back in style. My hair. Dude, my hair as Savant should have its own credit. Absolutely. Above my credit as the actor. Savant's hair [Laughs] should be the lead character in this movie."

Recently, we learned that a Peacemaker spinoff TV series is in the works with John Cena reprising his role from The Suicide Squad. So, has Rooker been on the phone to his good friend James Gunn to ask whether Savant can get his own show on the HBO Max streaming service?

"How about that, man? I think everybody should be on the phone to James Gunn," the actor joked. "Everybody out there listening, get on the phone to James Gunn and say, 'Michael Rooker wants his own series, dammit! And he wants it now!' [Laughs] It pays to have muscles in this day and age, doesn't it? Oh my God, John is way more than just muscles. This guy is so much fun, and we had a blast together on set and it all ended up being really fun stuff."

Savant is certainly rocking a unique look in the DC Comics movie, and with Rooker playing the character, you just know he's going to be a highlight. The actor is also a standout in Love and Monsters, and you can check out an exclusive clip from the upcoming movie in the player below:

They're obviously not going to kill Harley but it'd be fun to see pretty much every supporting character (par some A-Listers like King Shark) to bite the dust during the movie.

I can't keep track of what DC is bringing out. At first it was all those movies but now we're getting all these tv shows before even the movies they're based on are released.

I wish Rondu hadn’t died, but it was a really touching scene in what was too much of a joke fest much of the time. That said, “I’m Mary Poppins, y’all,” is a classic.
