THE SUICIDE SQUAD TV Spot Reveals Best Look Yet At Starro; Margot Robbie Unsure Of Harley Quinn Return

The Suicide Squad is fast approaching, and while we're still unsure whether it's a reboot, sequel, or a little bit of both, James Gunn's DC Extended Universe debut promises to be a lot of fun.

It's no secret that Starro is the threat Task Force X is sent to deal with, and while the giant starfish-like alien has typically been portrayed as a Justice League villain, this movie feels like a fitting place for his big screen debut. Up until now, Warner Bros. has been careful to only tease his role with a few brief glimpses, but as we get closer to August 5, more footage is being revealed from the movie.

As a result, we have a TV spot featuring an impossible-to-miss shot of Starro in all his glory!

He looks fantastic, and it seems Gunn has definitely nailed this take on the wacky bad guy.

In related news for The Suicide Squad, Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with Margot Robbie and asked for her thoughts on Harley Quinn's big screen future. Unfortunately, she doesn't seem too sure!

"It was kind of back-to-back filming Birds and filming this, so I was kind of like, oof, I need a break from Harley because she's exhausting," the actress told the site when they spoke last month. "I don't know when we're next going to see her. I'm just as intrigued as everyone else is."

As far as we know, there's nothing on the horizon set in the DCEU that would be a good fit for a character like Harley, but if this movie is a big enough hit, perhaps we'll finally get Gotham City Sirens?

I haven’t been a fan of Margot’s Harley at all.

I probably need to read some Flash comics but how is Captain Boomerang a competent villain against the Flash?

@Arthorious - there's a reason he's always on Task Force X. Every time he breaks out of prison Flash (or sometimes other heroes) put him right back.

@Waddles - I appreciate this, well not every villain needs to be able to go toe to toe against the hero.

If they give her a solo movie, let her be a villain. Its working great for the animated series and it worked great in the few harley focused batman tas episodes

Harley Quinn is the most overrated character in all of comics.

I can't even fathom someone wanting/hoping for a GCS movie.

The good old DCEU where all of the heroes are criminals and the villains get to be heroes.

"I need a break from Harley"

As does the rest of planet Earth. A LONG break too.

Making Gotham City Sirens next sounds about as appealing as remaking Suicide Squad a couple of years after the first failure. That opportunity has just been missed with this version of Harley.

In my opinion, Birds of Prey did nothing but add to the Harley-fatigue she’s talking about and I honestly can’t even remember what happened in the movie
