Viola Davis Says She Wanted To Pepper Spray Jared Leto For His SUICIDE SQUAD Gift

Jared Leto's method acting on the set of Suicide Squad was one of the more talked about aspects during the film's production, along with the gifts that he sent to some of his castmates, including Margot Robbie, Will Smith, and Viola Davis. While it was previously thought that Davis (who plays Amanda Waller) didn't receive anything from Leto, it's now been revealed she got a box of bullets delivered to her.

"We all got gifts from Jared. I got bullets, in a box," Davis said in an interview with E! Online. The actress said she was properly introduced to Leto out of character at an event for Glamour Magazine. "Before that I was only introduced to The Joker. There was a part of me that wanted to say, and have my pepper spray out, you remember that bullet you sent me? He was completely committed." Despite the tough facade of her character, Davis admitted the gift made her a little uneasy. "It was a little worrisome," Davis said. "It made you a little bit nervous and I'm pretty tough. You know I got into a few fights when I was growing up...but it scared me a little bit." Bullets seem pretty tame compared to Leto's other gifts to his castmates, which reportedly included rats, a dead pig, anal beads, and used condoms. Despite this, Davis praised Leto's performance in the film along with her other castmates. "Every single person in [Suicide Squad] gets to be completely insane because all the characters are insane. They're bad guys, we're all bad guys."

Suicide Squad releases August 5th, 2016.

There's method acting and there's the stuff Jared Leto does. Sending used condoms and anal beads to your co stars is way too far. That doesn't even sound like something the Joker would do which defeats the whole point of the method acting. If Jared Leto's actions on set indicates what the Joker will be like in Suicide Squad I have some major concerns about his portrayal besides the stupid tattoos.

Plot Spoilers for Suicide Squad from reddit's DCEU Leaks! :

"Amanda Waller decides to assemble the Suicide Squad on behalf of the United States government. Harley Quinn is arrested after Batman intervenes on a business deal between the Joker and a weapons dealer, Monster T, and ends up being recruited into the Suicide Squad alongside Deadshot, Boomerang, Killer Croc, El Diablo and Slipknot. Rick Flagg is assigned to lead them with Katana as his second-in-command.

Meanwhile, June Moon is possessed by the Enchantress and decides to revive her brother, the Incubus, and retrieve her heart, which is in Waller's possession. She attacks Midway City, filling it with monsters, and uses Monster T to host the Incubus. The Suicide Squad is sent to kill her, but end up being shot down by the Joker and his men, who want Harley back.

After they're shot down, Slipknot tries to escape and is killed by a bomb implanted on his neck. The team transverses the city fighting monsters, and ultimately fights the Incubus in a subway station, while the Enchantress captures Waller. Diablo sacrifices himself to destroy the Incubus, and the team goes to rescue Waller. They fight the Enchantress in an abandoned museum and Harley destroys the heart, exorcising the Enchantress.

Waller still locks everyone up, but the Joker later breaks into the prison and rescues her. Movie ends with them locking eyes and smiling."

The more I read, hear and see this "Joker", the more I dislike him.

BTW... I'm a huge fan of Jared Leto and 30 Seconds to Mars as well.

@deanwilkins - Same here. The more I see Jared Leto in pics and trailers, the more I read about his "method acting", the more annoying I find his Joker to be. I did like Leto in Requiem For A Dream tho.

@NateBest @RorMachine @MarkJulian @KingPatel

Any reason why my X-Men article was just deleted? Josh's was posted over 11 hours ago and is not done, so I fail to see why mine should go, unless there's something I'm missing.

I find it silly that people can just sit on news for a day. Especially when I've seen @Kr08 get told to hurry up and finish his stuff or it's "up for grabs"

I'm aware of the rules regarding article numbers, but when an article hasn't been posted in over 11 hours, I think it's fair that mine should stay up....

@NateBest

When this: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/x-men/x-men_apocalypse/unused-x-men-apocalypse-costume-designs-feature-comic-book-a142845

is just sitting there, incomplete and mine is finished, legible, and well put-together, and ready to go, I find it unfair that it has to be deleted because an unfinished one is just sitting there to be done hours later. I understand being beaten to the punch. It happens to me all the time, and I don't make a fuss. But this is a news website, and news is supposed to be timely.

When other non-editors like myself or @Kr08 get told to "hurry up and finish" but editors can sit on a post for twelve or more hours...that's a double standard

And just in case his article gets updated by the time you read this, this is a current screenshot of what the article looks like right now, posted yesterday. Whereas mine was completely finished.
