After a very rough start is the DCEU heading in the right direction after its third release?
Personally, I found Suicide Squad to be more enjoyablethan Batman v Superman as it had a more even flow throughout the film, compared to the roller-coaster highs and lows of Dawn of Justice. The film has also added VERY interesting characters/villains to the DCEU that, regardless of whether you feel they were misused in Suicide Squad, you have to be excited about where they could potentially appear next. Will Deadshot show up in Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie? Will Jai Courtney's Captain Boomerang appear as one of the Rogues in The Flash? Could Katana costar in that rumored Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey spin-off? The possibilities setup by Suicide Squad are much more dynamic and far-reaching than those presented by Dawn of Justice.
Potential aside, the film itself clearly has a lot of material cut and as seems to be the case with every DCEU film thus far, the editing was incredibly jarring. Despite these flaws, the film somehow still managed to be adequately entertaining and the characters were memorable (except for Slipknot).

FILM SYNOPSIS: It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
