PEACEMAKER: James Gunn's THE SUICIDE SQUAD Spinoff Casting Two More Supporting Roles

James Gunn's The Suicide Squad spinoff show, Peacemaker, is scheduled to begin shooting very soon, and the HBO Max series is reportedly in the process of casting two mysterious new supporting characters.

As far as we know, Peacemaker is set to commence production later this month, but a new report indicates that the HBO Max series is still searching for two more supporting roles.

Per the Illuminerdi, James Gunn's The Suicide Squad spinoff is looking for actors to play recurring characters listed in the casting call as "Keeya" and "Jose."

Keeya – Black Female, late 20s-early 30s, gay, supportive, but tired wife, reluctantly dealing with her new wife’s government job and the secrecy it requires; recurring guest star

Jose – 20s-40s, a hospital janitor who is reluctantly pulled into a discussion with a patient who confides in him; recurring role

These descriptions don't ring any bells, but there's always a chance one or both of these guys will turn out to be established DC Comics characters.

Whoever winds up landing these roles, they'll join previously announced cast members John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Chris Conrad, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lochlyn Munro, Annie Chang and Christopher Heyerdahl.

Specific plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that the series is expected to explore the origins of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.

Gunn is writing and directing the show, which was ordered to series last September. Cena's titular antihero will make his debut in The Suicide Squad, which is set to debut simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max this August.
