THE SUICIDE SQUAD Leaked Promo Art Reveals A New Look At Margot Robbie As Harley Quinn

Newly revealed promo art from The Suicide Squad reveals three brand new shots of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, and they all offer a clearer idea of the anti-hero's updated look in James Gunn's film!

After controversially (for some, at least) donning those skimpy shorts in 2016's Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie boasted a number of memorable costumes in Birds of Prey last year. When the actress returns for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, however, Harley will again receive an overhauled look.

Like some recent comics, Harley will be using a red and black colour scheme for her next team-up with Task Force X, and cuts a striking figure if this newly leaked promo art for the film is any indication.

Robbie looks badass as this Harley, and we're definitely loving that "HQ" belt buckle she's wearing!

Here's the synopsis for The Suicide Squad:

Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave…and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them.

The film stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Peter Capaldi, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Michael Rooker, Alice Braga, Pete Davidson, Joaquín Cosio, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Nathan Fillion, Steve Agee, Sean Gunn, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Jennifer Holland, Tinashe Kajese, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, and Taika Waititi.

It arrives in theaters, and on HBO Max, on August 6, 2021.

*Harley Quinn as Margot Robbie in the Suicide Squad.

Looks aside, she does do a great job with Harley’s persona.

@ElJefe - it's interesting that apparently she's James gunns favorite actor in the cast.

They finally make Harley look cool.

First film she looked like a hooters waitress

Birds Of Prey she looked like a thrift store threw up on her.

I'll say one thing about this whole SnyderCut business. It feels more special because it is an HBO Max exclusive. It feels like an event.

If it were in cinemas and on HBO Max, day and date, it would somehow feel like less of an event. Less special.

Perhaps they should test this approach with The Suicide Squad (being the next DC film). They could really push the R hard that way, too. You wouldn't have to worry about losing BO.

@GwenLantern - I never planned ZSJL in cinemas, just because of its length and not even because of the pandemic.

I hope the situation has improved by august, because I do wanna see TSS on the big screen. If not though, I'm glad there is the home option then too.

@GwenLantern - I have friends who are massive Snyder fans, so I would have gone to watch it with them if it ran theatrically but paying for the ticket would have hurt a bit.

I think the movie will both serve as vindication for Snyder fans and haters. Pretty sure it's going to be divisive as well.

@Blergh - I think that's a pretty safe bet. It's going to take the divisions that are already there and just expand them to a greater degree.

The Snyder Cult's zeal will increase so much that they will become a Snyder Religion. Meanwhile the haters will get 4 hours worth of new ammunition.

It's ironic since the trailer actually makes a statement on division.

Looks pretty cool. Hopefully we can get a trailer soon, because I really wanna see them in action.

The first look of her's I'm totally on board with, less over-sexed than in SS and less ridiculous than in BoP.

Without a doubt TSS is my most anticipated DCEU movie these days.

It amazes me how it's taken 3 movies to have Harley Quinn look so right in a movie. Seriously best costume, love it. It's weird being hyped for a DC movie after so many duds.

My mate got married on Saturday, their wedding cake was a split-down-the-middle Joker/Harley Quinn design. Very cool 😎
