Okay, to recap: over the last few months, Bleeding Cool has been reporting on an event set to arrive during DC's move from New York to Burbank in April 2015, initially dubbed "The DC Band-Aid" but apparently known as Blood Moon. There have been tiny hints and teasers in some of the publisher's recent comics, and it now seems certain something big will arrive around that time with co-publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee briefly mentioning an event coming next year. Bleeding Cool has said that Blood Moon will see "various multidimensional characters pitted against each other, including those from the Pre-52." We know that the original Blue Beetle and Booster Gold will turn up in the pages of Justice League 3000, and BC has speculated that Scott Lobdell will pen a weekly series through the event. Up until now, all the articles from Bleeding Cool are essentially just rumours... but the final page of today's Superman: Doomed #2 suggests that the old universe definitely still exists.
In a spread quite similar to one in Infinite Crisis, we can see characters from a 'various multidimensions', including the Golden Age DCU, Flashpoint and, that's right, the Pre-New 52 universe. It's certainly worth noting that Lobdell conceived the Doomed storyline, with this issue being the final chapter. But this is just another piece of DC's mysterious puzzle. What are your thoughts?
