Okay, to recap: over the last few months, Bleeding Cool has been reporting on an event set to arrive during DC's move from New York to Burbank in April 2015, initially dubbed "The DC Band-Aid" but apparently known as Blood Moon. There have been tiny hints and teasers in some of the publisher's recent comics, and it now seems certain something big will arrive around that time with co-publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee briefly mentioning an event coming next year. Bleeding Cool has said that Blood Moon will see "various multidimensional characters pitted against each other, including those from the Pre-52." We know that the original Blue Beetle and Booster Gold will turn up in the pages of Justice League 3000, and BC has speculated that Scott Lobdell will pen a weekly series through the event. Up until now, all the articles from Bleeding Cool are essentially just rumours... but the final page of today's Superman: Doomed #2 suggests that the old universe definitely still exists.

In a spread quite similar to one in Infinite Crisis, we can see characters from a 'various multidimensions', including the Golden Age DCU, Flashpoint and, that's right, the Pre-New 52 universe. It's certainly worth noting that Lobdell conceived the Doomed storyline, with this issue being the final chapter. But this is just another piece of DC's mysterious puzzle. What are your thoughts?

@blackandyellow

I don't think he's become a fascist.... you can see Uncle Sam there, so Plas is on Earth-X, I'd guess that anyway.

Seeing OMAC is cool. I really hope this allows Cassandra Cain to come back. I see Donna Troy and that's great. My guess that's Captain Marvel, not Shazam. I see Saturn Girl and the Legion of Superheroes. I can't wait to see what they have planned for this hopefully it includes bringing back the real Wally West.

I can only hope that the Band-aid will do what we know needs to happen and the New 52 will finally become cohesive, readable, and not a ridiculous steaming pile.

Another retcon/reboot. Yay. So excited for this. It's not like the DC universe has been destroyed/rebuilt a number of time. Crisis on infinite earths, Zero Hour, The Kingdom 2's Hypertime, Infinite Crisis (with Superboy-Prime PUNCHING, I shit you not, literally PUNCHING DC continuity to fix it), the ironically named Final Crisis and New 52. I may have forgotten some reboots. That's why I gave up on the DC Universe. I only buy the occasional stand-alone TPBs that could fit into any universe. I miss the old JLA and Titans. But it's pointless to invest in the continuing stories of the DC universe. It will be rebooted every 5 years anyway.

It feels like when they change or get rid of a character only to have them return in their true form sometime later to much applause and love. It feels like DC are doing it with the entire universe though.
