EXCLUSIVE Interview With Ayelet Zurer: What Was It Like Playing Superman's Mom?

Earlier today I spoke with Ayelet Zurer, who played Lara Lor-Van (Superman's biological mother), in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. We discussed her elaborate costumes, her emotionally heavy scenes, and portraying an alien in a realistic universe. Come check it out.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Man Of Steel was directed by Zack Snyder, from a script written by David Goyer. The cast includes: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, Laurence Fishburne and Richard Schiff. In theaters June 14th, 2013!

Most disappointing performance of the film, especially when she is saying goodbye to her baby. Just not the investment and emotion I would expect for the scene.

Too bad this article will be full of whining bitches about the film and not the actress interview.

The Krypton destruction scene was the only moment that I really felt that she gave the performance I would expect. She did do a great job there. Up until that point though, she was very plastic.

Telling someone to kill themselves? How original and heartfelt. Also if I did kill myself due to me being depressed by your statement, you would be arrested for cyber bullying. Yes it happens and yes you can be arrested. So unless you want your 2 kids to see their daddy in jail, its best we act like this didnt happen.

Checkmate.

nail

Ah I understand. Bruce's awesomeness would have probably overtaken you in the photo anyway.

I liked her performance for the little time she was in. Felt really sad for her that in less than one minute she lost 2 people that were important to her.

I may be a lot of things but I ain't a rat. Also if you were arrest, is that what your gonna tell your kids why your in jail? Because you told a man to kill himself and he did? It would make you look bad and I don't want to die soon and I don't want your kids to look at you bad no matter how I feel about you.

Also at least my icon is original. Not like how you and most others have Avengers, MOS, and Dark Knight Trilogy.

I'm a leader not a follower.

Don't like my icon? Bite my shiny metal ass.

Also IP address does nothing. Your user name needed an email address. If that your or one of your it leads back to you. If its a phony you can trace it back to where it was created.

Trust me I've thought about going into law enforcement and know a lot of things. They could find you.
