I joke I joke :') I thought it was pretty good but could have better. I still think Thor: The dark World is the best CBM this year IMO. :D

Email..usually. If there's no reply after a day or so I'll DM you on Twitter (if you've followed me that is;)

I'm only (half) joking..I liked Iron Man 3 and really liked Thor 2, but I got a bit more out of MOS overall.

and i watched thor online. it was definitely good—way more even and well-structured than the first, with a solid ending instead of that blink and you'll miss it destroyer thing.

but i still liked mos better because i like that version of superman, and i like the tension and grimness more than the lighter stuff marvel's doing now. i'm in the camp of people that thinks phase 2 is going a little too far into the comedy department, but thor2 was still way better than im3.

the copy was shitty so i can't comment on the visuals, but i'm sure they were gorgeous. i'll definitely be seeing it when they release it stateside.

My favourite CBM this year (possibly my favourite movie of the year, although I'm struggling to remember a lot of what came out this year if I'm honest).

I was surprised by how similar I thought Thor 2 was to this - the opening on Svartalfheim was visually almost identical to the opening on Krypton in MoS, and a lot of the story felt similar (if toned down) too (villain with ties to hero's ancestors murders one of the hero's parents, travels to Earth with a doomsday weapon in order to change the world/universe into something they prefer). That's nothing against Thor 2 by the way, I thought it was one of the better Marvel films, and I think the best stuff was the Thor/Loki interactions (and I even found Kat Dennings' character tolerable this time around), just noting the similarities. Of course, there will inevitably be people on both sides of the Marvel vs DC flame war who jump up and say that one of the movies was shit while the other was the best thing since sliced bread, but that's just bias talking. They're both very similar, and very good in their own way - personally, I like MoS a lot more than Thor 2, but I like both for what they are.

For me, the list this year goes: Man Of Steel, Iron Man 3/The Wolverine, Thor 2, Kick Ass 2.
