Thanks to our awesome friends over at The Man Of Steel Facebook Page, from Ben Torres, we have a look at some concept art by Chris Samuels and Brian Eun that was done for Hasbro's toy line for the failed Superman Lives project. The art gives us a look at Nic Cage suited up as the Man of Steel, as well as what his ship from the movie might have looked like if the film had actually gotten made.

The failed Superman Lives movie was scheduled to be directed by Tim Burton. Kevin Smith did a couple of drafts of a script for the film but left due to creative differences with Burton. The art that is show here also looks different from the pictures of the Superman costume that has surfaced over the years. What do you guys think? Leave your comments in the comment boxes below.

Yeah, I'm glad this movie never happened. Main reason:

Also, they had Chris Rock as Jimmy Olsen and Tim Allen as Brainiac (Jim Carrey was considered for the latter). Plus the story sounded ridiculous.

To be honest, while I think this film would've likely been a disaster, I sort of wish it had been made just because it seems like it would've been so [frick]ing crazy. Not Superman, probably not even good, but real [frick]ing batshit bonkers.

If I'm being honest, I have to say I agree with jbak368.
I'm curious about how awful it could have been.

Looks like a typical Burton piece of shit. Part of me wishes it would have been made to ruin his career as a director

Ugh. These designs were sh*t 15 years ago...and yet they bear a striking resemblance to Jim Lee's craptasttic new 'modernized' look

Call me a glutton for punishment. But I'd have loved to have seen this piece of shit get made.

Just for laughs. Like watching Steel or something.

MrEko...Batman 89 had Burton's Style written all over it. It was a good movie, but it was like he hadn't ever read a Batman comic book...Oh wait, he really hadn't.

If it had been made the way Kevin Smith intended it, this could have been a good movie. I like Tim Burton, but he shit all over this concept.

Still say you guys are wrong, at least a Superman movie would have been released.I would rather have a movie to endlessly post about on CBM than post endlessly about a film that never was. Most every Tim Burton film is at least interesting to watch. His first Batman movie is what put Batman on the map.
