Henry Cavill On Superman Excitement And Re-Imagining; Reveals Desire To Play 007!

In an interview with IGN Movies, the actor talked more about his excitement with being cast in Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman: The Man of Steel, but most interestingly reveals his desire to take over the James Bond franchise as soon as current 007, Daniel Craig, is finished.

In another interview with MTV Splash Page, the actor is quizzed about what he'll bring to Superman with his interpretation as well as just how closely to the comic book it will be. Here is the video and transcription.

It’s true to the source material. There’s so little I can say about it."

"It’s basically just a re-imagining and modernization of an iconic character."

"That’s tough to say. It’s very early days yet. Superman is Superman, after all. There’s only so much of a change you can make to that. It’s certainly, as I say, it’s going to be different, but not so different that it’s unrecognizable. How’s that for an answer?"

Starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Superman: The Man of Steel is expected to be released sometime during the Winter of 2012!

Daniel Craig OWNS the James Bond character.

Daniel Craig is an average Bond and people forget that Henry Cavill was the first choice for Bond but because he was too young they cast Daniel Craig(second choice) instead.
BIGBMH
BIGBMH - 4/4/2011, 6:24 PM
He can't play Superman AND James Bond! No one man should possess that much power!

Just kidding. He might make a decent Bond.

Clive Owen, Henry Cavill or Christian Bale for future Bond.(in no specific order)
jbak368
jbak368 - 4/4/2011, 6:39 PM
Supposedly Bale wanted to be Bond before he took Batman. Daniel Craig is a great Bond, but I doubt he'll do more than one more film, so it'll be time for someone new soon anyway.

I think Bale would make a great Bond

Everyone knows Sean Connery was the best James Bond ever and even though I like Craig's Bond, Bond should have dark hair not blonde so yes to Clive Owen then Henry Cavill

Batman and John Conner... that's how much more badass you can be.

@Coon

don't forget that Bale has also played Jesus and Bob Dylan.

Jesus, Bob Dylan, and Batman - now there's a Holy Trinity.

@dahamma. im right there with you. but i trust that he will do the role justice. when i watched true blood and watched joe i really got the superman vibe from him, but when i watched henry in blood creek or anything else i dont get the same vibe. but like i said i have faith that he will be great.

What a dick! I was excited to see him as Superman. Be happy with one iconic character. Both franchises would suffer if he did both, even down the road.

Superman and Jesus can do magic tricks to win that battle of mythological characters. Nothing is cooler than Batman.

Superman is if Jesus didn't turn the other cheek.

To me, Batman is cooler than Bond, but that's for entirely subjective reasons.

Batman and Bond both have gadgets. But I know one thing Bond has to have over Batman, The Clap.

I still go on rants when discussing those films with people because of things that happened before Schumcher even got there, like Marlon Wayans as Robin.

That info is according to imdb.

@Coon batman is just a depressed pedophile. He is Pedobear underneath the cowl.

and there is only one true James Bond. Sean Connery
Coon
Coon - 4/4/2011, 9:05 PM
disagree about batman, unless your basis for the pedophile argument is the 60's tv show. and i fully agree with you on connery, although i would like to see dalton back as a villain in one of the future movies.
LordHuck
LordHuck - 4/4/2011, 9:14 PM
I try not to get hung up on minutia like hair color for a character like Bond. That’s pretty nit picky.

As far as Connery being the best Bond, that’s just personal taste. There has never been a shitty Bond Actor…Some movies were weaker than others, but that’s a script thing.
Coon
Coon - 4/4/2011, 9:21 PM
all bond tastes aside, they need to get this next one made so they can go back to the stand alone format that carried the franchise all these decades.

There has never been a shitty Bond actor?... have you never seen 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'? George Lazenby is an atrocious actor!

I'm Australian, and I'm all for Australians playing iconic characters, but I think even Lazenby himself would agree his Bond film was terrible...

Well said. AND...Batman IS cooler than James Bond, and would certainly find a way to better Clark. So, the final order really goes like this: JESUS, Batman, Superman, James Bond.

Cavill will make a great Superman, but Fassbender is the only one that comes to mind as the next Bond.
