please don't make it something lame like he can grow out a beard instantly so that Clark has a beard instead of glasses. i just think that would be stupid to see onscreen.

i don't think it is the reason he has the beard, but they have been filming now for awhile and it isn't just stuff before Metropolis and the Daily Planet because red headed Lois has been seen on set. So that means he has the beard for at least a little bit while working for the Daily Planet most likely. and because i have not seen a Clark Kent with glassses pic i am a little leery that they may have changed his way of disguise.

i drew an illustration of superman about 6 years ago and i gave him a beard, the reason? because i imagined he had just returned from space where he was looking for the remains of krypton. i believe they used that for the superman returns film as well but they didnt give brandon routh a beard in the film.
would be interesting if they go with that angle for this film

@CapA That's exactly correct. The only ways I could think of in which he'd be able to "shave" are:

1)He uses blades made of Kryptonite

2)He plucks each hair with his own fingers (which would seem ridiculous)

3)He uses a mirror and uses his heat vision to disintegrate the hairs. (I believe I've seen him do this before).

I agree with nunber 3 as well. He could also be using that as a disguise as a way to travel the world without anyone thinking him as much as a homeless person saving people. Either that or he's lazy.
