While the True Blood actor's name has been linked to Zack Snyder's Superman reboot since early November, Joe Manganiello was recently rumored to be back in the running for the iconic role. Well, while hes addressed the rumors several times in the past, speaking with Extra today, the actor neither confirms nor denies the rumor.

"It's not up to me at this point," Manganiello said, referring to rumors he's set to wear the blue tights and red cape in the new film "Superman: Man of Steel" from director Zack Synder. "I love Zack Snyder, huge fan. I'd be honored if they chose to do that. We'll see. It's out there in the ether."

What do you think? Anyhow, while I can't post is up just yet, inside one of Production Weekly's updates, the Superman film apparently follows Clark Kent as a freelance reporter in his early 20's, traveling all around the world covering various news stories. However, Kent is forced to fly back into action to attain a fleeing assassin instead of covering an ethnic conflict between the Ghuri and Turaaba clans in West Africa. Upon his return to form, Kent returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and become the hero he was born to be.

Like the casting rumor, take the story details with a grain of salt as of now. But the film is slated for release December, 2012.
