In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Man Of Steel was directed by Zack Snyder, from a script written by David Goyer. The cast includes: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, Laurence Fishburne and Richard Schiff.

I was really, really looking forward to this film's art book, but I'm going to have to agree with @@grif. This isn't anything worth putting on the shelf.

IM3 art book was fantastic. Bring on Thor 2, and really looking forward to GotG.

Just finished myself. I [frick]ing love it on my tv. My brother loved it too. My father hated it, but he misses the "old George Reeves show." Oh well.

Love this artwork, very very cool. I noticed after watching it on blu-ray yesterday how much the Kryptonian armor looks like Lex Luthor's battle suit. Please oh please oh please make that connection Snyder!

The score, the visuals, the action, this movie is excellent. One of my favorite movies. It's what I want in a superman movie and it's the beginning of a DCU. Can't wait for the next one. I'm gonna read birthright again.

Had they made the world engine that original beautiful scope can you imagine how hard haters would complain about destruction? Our entire planet is threatened by alien destruction? Better not lose more than 10,000 implied casualties or you failed as a hero.

I loved this movie. The scope of the powers. Finally seeing the consequences of two Kryptonians (and more) fighting. Seeing a green and unsure Superman begin the journey to the status we know that he'll one day hold with the Justice League. Is it wrong to dream of what a crossover film with Superman and Thor could be? Two immensely powerful beings (one godlike and the other having actually been worshiped as a god) having an adventure together. One more reserved, the other not so much (ANOTHER!!). That would be the cbm "buddy cop film" of the millennium. Ah, to dream! It would be hard to come up villains, however, to challenge the two of THEM.

Almighty!! You do realize it was a sci-fi movie right?

Things that I learned from watching Man of Steel:

-You can now make a film displaying the full range of Kryptonian powers and their impact.

-Justice League is entirely "do-able" and should be worked on immediately.

-Superman is the worst chiropractor in the history of EVER!

In closing, I quote NeoBaggins when he said:
"Give Batman a bigger tank and shut the [frick] up!"

It's a movie, why are we all crying like emo bitches when a couple people die?

Dude, Final Crisis has everyone die. Why aren't you weepy fan boys writing fan fiction obituaries over all the Earth 616 deaths?

Oh, yeah...you don't give a shit. Stop be such whiney little babies over Man of Steel.

@MarkV

For some people, they just want to have a reason to bitch. The absolute worst thing that you could do to these people is take away their reason to bitch.
