JUSTICE LEAGUE Sequel With "Snyderverse" Actors Was Reportedly Discussed Before DCU Shakeup

Following on from tonight's shocking update on current plans for the DCU, it's come to light that a Justice League sequel with the Snyderverse era actors was discussed before Gunn & Safran took over.

Earlier tonight, THR shared a fairly shocking update on the current state of the DCU and James Gunn and Peter Safran's plans for a connected universe going forward. Now, it's come to light that there was talk of developing a second Justice League movie prior to the shakeup.

Apparently, The Flash director Andy Muschietti expressed interest in helming a Man of Steel follow-up which would have "brought a tone similar to the hopeful and heroic colors of the 1978 movie directed by Richard Donner," and this in turn led to acting DC bosses Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy considering "one more go-around of the Snyderverse heroes" for another Justice League movie with those actors.

We're not sure if this project actually came close to becoming a reality or if it was just an idea that was tossed around, but it's probably safe to say that any discussion relating to a Justice League sequel is now moot!

With Wonder Woman 3 now dead (in its current form, at least), Henry Cavill likely out as Superman (after only recently returning to the role in Black Adam), and Jason Momoa possibly ending his tenure as Aquaman after James Wan's sequel, it certainly looks like the new DC Studios co-heads are fully intent on cleaning the slate and starting from scratch.

We still don't know anything for certain, however, and there is talk of the establishment of a "brain trust" to set plans in stone ahead of a meeting with Warner Bros. Discovery boss David Zaslav next week.

What do you guys make of these reports? Do you feel a full DCU reboot is the smartest move, or would you prefer to see the likes of Cavill, Gadot and Momoa stay on in their respective roles for the foreseeable future?
