New Words from Zack Snyder on Superman

New Words from Zack Snyder on Superman

Lots of new words from Director Zack Snyder on the Untitled Superman Reboot with quotes not revealed before.

Most of it is what he has already said before in the hundreds of interviews he has given, is Superman getting released wednesday or is it Sucker Punch I don't know amount he talks about the project which is fine by me! Anyway here are the new excepts:

Producer Deborah Snyder said this past weekend in Los Angeles while promoting "Sucker Punch":

"[Superman] came out of nowhere really, it wasn’t what we had planned,"

Then Director Zack had this to say:

"We were talking about a few different projects. And then "Superman" came along and Christopher Nolan called us and said, "Hey, do you want to have lunch and talk about "Superman?" and we’re like "Wow, that’s cool!" And Superman made a lot of sense for me because after doing Watchmen... you have to know the rules before you break them. Making Watchmen really gives you the opportunity to really understand superheroes and Superman just demands a level of sophistication in order for it to be relevant and cool and modern and I think that makes sense to us as far as another super hero film.

While Snyder was obviously coy with details:

"It’s super secret, beyond secret, you can’t even imagine how crazy it is that we’re talking about it right now."

He then took a swipe at another Marvel movie this time the Iron Man franchise:

"I’m a fan of Iron Man movies, but really? Iron Man, a whole franchise of movies, Iron Man 4? It’s would be like if we were making a movie about all the greek gods, but no one had made a movie about Zeus because they’re like, "I don’t know what to do with him, he’s too awesome." We’re at this point where all of these minor Gods have movies and franchises, and it just seems to me that it’s time to fix that."

He then proceded to take a dig at Thor which has already been reported before going on to describe the difference between Watchmen and Superman:

"I love superhero movies and the genre, "he said." But to make Watchmen it wasn’t really a love affair movie, you know which is fine, I have no problem with that when you start to think about it and intellectualize it. But Superman does give me a chance to sort of re-fall in love with the super hero world."

Lots of new words to take in, I'm sure there will be many more this week where we might squeeze a few extra details beside the same quotes.

The Untitled Superman Reboot is Directed by Zack Snyder (300 & Watchmen) and Produced by Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder from a Story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer with Screenplay by David Goyer. It will star Henry Cavill, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.

@HollywoodStalker- Dude is your info about Metallo true or not?

I hope so, because though I didn't want another kryptonite angle, Metallo sounds a helluva lot better than freaking ZOD again.

I seriously WANT to believe everything you're saying. But your same source was wrong about JGL as Aberto Falcone for Batman and that's the same source telling you about Metallo in this new Superman film.

Plus your lack of an avatar...makes me think you're like the occasional "AnonymousCBMContributer" people on this site. There really are people who go by that name on here and post random rumors that are never true.

I hope you're not one of them.

He didn't take a swipe at Iron Man lol
Saying it like that is gonna have people going nuts :P

I'm glad he used the greek god metaphor because it clarifies that he is simply talking about the fact that the biggest, greatest hero doesn't have a film.
Supes is the original iconic superhero in terms of the types we're dealing with.

He's right. Supes is like Zeus. The Avengers is big, but Superman is just that iota bigger. If comic-book superhero movies are a dying trend and they do come to and end (or for that matter if the world comes to an end in Dec 2012) then we need our big Superman movie to go out on. It will be the defining Superhero movie. And if the world doesn't end then expect to see Superman at the Oscars, the following year. Really.
