I asked you guys which of the new interpretations on the iconic costumes featured in The Amazing Spider-Man and Man of Steel you like most, and with over 4100 votes, there's a very clear winner...

With The Amazing Spider-Man set to be released next July, and Man of Steel a little under a year after that, it's a very exciting time to be a comic book fan. However, these two iconic superheroes have both undergone something of a makeover for their respective movies. While they're still instantly recognizable, Spider-Man has donned a pair of sneakers, lost his belt and instead has a fairly drastically different looking design of the classic red and blue. Superman meanwhile has lost his red trunks, the symbol on his cape and has an all round darker, slightly more alien look. The question I asked you guys was which of the new interpretations you like most, and there was a very clear winner...

i like the spider man costume better but i gotta ask is the superman suit designed that way or does he actually have a wang that size? its been killing me cuz apparently christopher reeves costume had the same thing

no classic yellow belt and no S on the back is my only complaint with Supermans suit. Spideys... the colors and crotch are all wrong. All wrong.

I could prolly nit pic about both but i wont.

i voted Superman's. The deciding factor for me was Spidey's new sneaks and mask. Don't like either at all.

Don't hate both, don't love both.

Can't wait for both movies.

I'm probably in the minority, but I really dig spiderman's blue and red glove treatment. Looks ace when he's making the web shooting hand sign. God, I'm such a dork.

time to piss people off...
Sad we got a reboot... sad SpiderMan 3 sucked. Tobey Mcguire owned as spidey... Mary Jane will be missed.

But hey... at least with this reboot Spiderman isnt black!

They're pretty much the exact same to me... at least the material texture kind of does. I'd say Superman though. Spidey's shoes and arms look goofy.

I am with you villain... I liked Spiderman 1 & 2 but 3 was right down in the toilet with X3. I like the Superman suit but a red belt would be cool. If they want the new Spiderman suit to look like a kid made it, it worked.

I cant even tell the diffrence between the Spiderman suits. But I can tell that Supermans suit sucks monkey nuts

@tea I like how Superman's enlarged eye in the last frame of the pic looks like a saggy boob with a blue nipple. Not that I'm into that sort of thing, I just thought it was appropriate somehow.

both arent classic by any means but its clear supermans is better

its less busy and closer to the iconic look even with out the briefs but isay he should still have the s curl and a red belt with yellow buckle.

@dxperry really? Superman's suit for MOS is more similar to the comic version (both pre and post DCnU) than Spiderman's is for this reboot compared to the comics.

Superman's just has a much thinner belt, no red undies, and no yellow \S/ on the back.

Spidey's, however, has weird leg stripes, no belt/pattern around the waist, weird sneaker/trainer things attached to his boots, the eyes are really small and odd looking (compared to the comics) and the gloves have been redesigned too.

Both will be great films, but I'm not too fond of the costumes in either. But Superman's is clearly the better of the two.

Anyways, I like them both, but I voted for Superman because it looks VERY different from previous film versions of the suit, whereas Spider-Man only blended more red and blue and extended the legs on the logo.

After seeing both, I came to the startling realization that they're actually quite similar to each other!!

Neither Supe's nor Spidey's costumes (respectively), appear to have actual belts on them at all, simply thin color strands which trail off near the front of the waist.

They both also seem to be made of very similar (or the exact same), materials, the slightly bumpy/beady textured rubbery looking fabric, the difference being only that Henry Clavill's muscles are bulging through his suit (or is that padding?)

Either way, both Spiderman's and Superman's new costumes seems to have been modified in the same or similar styles! Mmmm...wonder if both have the same tailor? Mmmm...
