Ed: If it comes to the final episode and all we see is him looking at the costume or that cape shot they first teased back in season 1 (as well as in those Legion episodes) I'll take my Smallville box sets outside and make a CW shaped bonfire with them! :D If that were to happen though in all seriousness, it would be a terrible insult/disappoinment to fans! They need to give us at least one full episode of Superman IMO...we've waited 10 years after all!!!

So... When he wears the suit and becomes Superman... He then starts wearing the glasses and EVERYONE is fooled after seeing his face for so many years??? Okay....

pitchblack - 9/10/2010, 5:20 AM
@animeex The idea of Clark Kent being unrecognizable after taking off his glasses and putting on the suit in all media he has been featured in has never made any sense. So this shouldn't be any more or less unbelievable...
CharEl

Jor-El will erase everyone's memory so they don't recognize Clark as Supes
EdGross
EdGross - 9/10/2010, 5:28 AM
CharEl, unfortunately that's exactly what I think they'lll do, too. How else do you explain it?
animeex
animeex - 9/10/2010, 5:28 AM
Ptchblack I hear ya but this pushes people's stupidity. CharEl I was thinking along those lines... But not liking it. I guess it is what it is. I just wish they would do a Batman story of Bruce's travels and training to become Batman.

Admittedly the show won't have to deal with the ramifications of people recognizing Clark, but postulating a bit: what happens when Lex Luthor finally returns? Surely he'll recognize Clark as Superman. Although years ago Miles Millar and I had a talk in which I suggested that Clark's revelation as Superman would have such a psychological effect on Lex (this was when they were still friends) that he would actually see Clark Kent and Superman as two different people. Miles seemed to like that notion, not that it means anything at this point.

Clark shud've put those glasses on years back.

HE WILL BE SUPERMAN in the last minute of the last episode!

Cool find @ ED!
superdog
superdog - 9/10/2010, 6:38 AM
ed@ dont forget all the things that have happened to lex. being severly injured in the artic, being blown up by green arrow. also being in that water contraption with the airmask and crap. also it appears from the promos there will be luthor clones. so if lex comes back they could easily explain why he doesnt remember clark is superman due to brain injuries etc....or even the new lex being a clone with none of the old lex's memories.

josh@ i think we will see him wear the suit but it will not be until the last episode. they've always said the last scene will be him wearing the suit flying off, i see no reason why they would deviate from that.

and as to the identity issue i agree with john conner. the only one who would have significant contact with both clark and superman would be lois and they have fixed that by having her already know. nobody else knows who clark kent is (just a minor reporter) and no one else will spend that much time face to face with superman.

If so many of you hate this show, why do you bother checking out and then bitching about every Smallville article? I've been curious about that for a while

Must have hit your caps lock button there 01carterg.

Its the weekend..can I hate Smallville? Its a public form dude, everyone is free to express their opinion. I seriously think your the one being immature suggesting that posting a negative comment about a tv show is a sign of being overly mothered! Some of the guys bash Smallville because its amusing for them to do so. Just as I'm sure they will get a lot of amusement from your post. I don't hate the show myself, but I believe it is definitely open for some ridicule.

Anyway, nice find. Its good to see the actual suit. If they can tone down the silly melodrama and take a bit of the gloss away from the final season.. maybe give some of the cast acting lessons while they are at it, I'll watch.

The only reason this is the last season is because the producers and writers have finally realized how much they effed everything up. Clark at Daily Planet w/o glasses? Hmm. A JLA wannabe group w/o Clark even being Superman? Hmm. Those are just a few. This show could have been great if they wouldve slowed things down. I mean really, Clark Kent works at the Daily Planet and does not wear glasses. How and the hell can that ever happen?

The only way they can make this Superman thing work is by showing him in suit right at the end of the final episode. Anything more than that and theyll have to explain how nobody realizes it's Clark.

Kind of funny too how they are using the SR suit (maybe because they know deep down that Brandon Routh is the real Superman!)

I thought the show had great potential back in season 1. But somehow I lost interest somewhere along season 3 and came back in season 8. By then, it was already full of stupid things and the storyline was messed up. Only the presence of Green Arrow made me finish that season.

The writers seem to be taking huge liberties with the source material, and in turn, season 8 was crap(the appearance of the 'Legion of Superheroes' in particular, was screwed up). Welling's one-dimensional acting didn't help either. I didn't watch season 9 and I might only watch season 10 after Welling dons the real suit, just to see if he can truly pull it off.

Nah....I still like the idea of having Zatanna put a charm on a pair of glasses that stops people from recognizing him. Totally cheesy for the comics, but they could pull it off in the show. That would fit for the way Smallville does stuff. The episode that I am MOST looking forward to is the the one with Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. I think we're gonna see some great easter eggs this season, and I really hop they go out on top!

@RorMachine
You're right it is a public form which is why I finally decided to speak up today.
Ive seen on previous posts, on Smallville storys, people voicing their love of the show & being laughed at for it by the same people who say the same stuff day in day out.
Regretably my previous post was fuelled partly by anger, for which I apologize(wrong side of the bed & all that)
I reiterate I hold no hate in my heart for anyone,
but i'm overflowing in frustration.
Just posting "shit show" on every Smallville story is not an oppinian, it's a malicious attack on the people who have love for the show.

I'm sorry that I incurred your wrath Ror
as I say frustration not hate.
PEACE

haha, sorry Wards, a spreading Typo!

You didn't incur my wrath dude, I was just pointing out that raging against people posting their opinion is just as pointless as them posting "shit show". Its not much of an explanation, but its kind of a long running joke around here. Trust me those guys have posted full and valid reasons for their dislike of the show in the past. I also don't think its counts as any kind of attack on anyone who watches Smallville! They are perfectly free to respond with their own arguments. Provided they can read...(Joke!!);)

"i finish season 1 i thought it was awesome and now when you guys said it will turned to dawson greek i lost my interest"

Seriously? You quit watching a show YOU thought was awesome based on what you heard from other people? I like to use my own brain for making decisions. Talk about being a sheep.
