Just my opinion, but it seems like the writers want to make Smallville bigger than it really is. The introduction of Zod, Checkmate, the JSA, etc. shows at least some interest in what the fans want, but it is probably the producers that are holding it back. They want to keep the distinction between Smallville and Superman so they can potentially bank on another Superman movie (eventually) without having to give up Smallville too. It all boils down to money. I enjoy the show and watch it regularly but I could see where it could be so much more. It would be nice if they would just overhaul it, call it Metropolis, and kick it into high gear with Superman, costume, flight, and all.

Meh, I stopped caring about Smallville a looooong time ago..! Thank God for Supernatural - the only good show made by the CW! :P

Even though this looks like a completely unfair fight(which it is) I think we're all forgetting something here. According to the preview of this episode Green Arrow has no knowledge that Zod has powers. Hence the soon to come ass kicking.
