HBO Max shocked everyone by passing on Batman: Caped Crusader, though that recently found a new home on Amazon Prime Video.
Now, a press release (via Toonado.com) has confirmed that My Adventures With Superman has also shifted to a new network: Adult Swim. The home of Rick and Morty, the DC series joins the "late-night primetime hours" block, with reruns airing on Toonami. There's no news on a premiere date, though we're hoping news on that front drops imminently.
When we learned My Adventures with Superman was heading to HBO Max and Cartoon Network, it was described as an all-new kids and family animated series that follows the action-packed, comedic and romantic adventures of Superman and Lois Lane. The show received a two-season series order.
According to the official synopsis, "My Adventures with Superman catches up with twenty-somethings Clark Kent, the bright and driven Lois Lane, and their best friend Jimmy Olsen as they begin to discover who they are and everything they can accomplish together as an investigative reporting team at the Daily Planet."
In this serialized coming-of-age story, we follow Clark as he builds his secret Superman identity and embraces his role as the hero of Metropolis - and perhaps the world. Lois, now growing into a star investigative journalist, takes aspiring photographer Jimmy Olsen under her wing. All the while, Clark and Lois are falling in love, sharing adventures, taking down bad guys, stumbling over secrets, and discovering what it means to be Superman and Lois Lane.
Jack Quaid (The Boys) and Alice Lee (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) lead the voice cast as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively.
We're certainly intrigued by the series and aren't surprised about it being taken off HBO Max. Since DC Studios was formed, it's been made clear the plan is for future animated TV shows to be set in the DCU and that obviously won't be the case with My Adventures with Superman, especially with Superman: Legacy on the way.
Hopefully, we'll have more news to share with you on this one soon.
