my problem with tom welling... though hes been great for smallville and a great super man for the show, I think it would feel to much like its a movie coming from the tv show with him being the next super man. It just wouldn't feel right with him being the superman for the reboot... I guess same kinda goes with Brandon Routh and it feeling like part 2 from the last movie when its not... kinda sucks for Routh for that matter. BUT I WANT HIM BACK!!

I say Brandon Routh out of those only because that is a crap list. Welling is far more capable than most of those actors on the list. I really dont know where that list came from but it needs to disappear faster than it was made.

They can reboot without totaly ditching everything. Sup Return was based off of just Supperman 1....

I dont want to see a reboot...that means telling the orgins again at some point.

Create a situation and let him tackle it.

Routh got dealt a crappy hand but its simply delusional to think that he will be cast in a reboot.

Christopher Reeve IS Superman, and always will be. Brandon Routh is the next best thing. Give him another chance!!! He was not only a good Superman, but a good Clark as well.

Hamm and Barrowman are too old (well, at least for what WB is most likely looking at).

Bomer and Cavill sort of have chances, but I think it's highly unlikely they'd be cast.

And, I'm sorry to say, but Routh really just isn't coming back. I like the guy, and I liked him as Superman, but WB is moving on.

So really, I don't think it'd be any of these guys.

Definitely not John Hamm: While he definitely has the acting chops for the job, he just seems too much like a villain should..or a really tragic hero. He may be the perfect choice for the Trilogy idea Mark Millar had cos that turns out to have a tragic end.

Henry Cavil? No, he looks like he'd play a great Guardian of Metropolis, but not Superman himself...he just doesn't seem to channel that SUPER in superman.

John Barrowman? hmm...maybe, he has the face for Superman, but has neither the build nor the dramatic presence. He strikes me as more of a comedy man, than a superman! The fact that he's gay will also work against him as far as casting goes because WB will not go pick anyone with even the slightest bit of controversy attached to their image as far as a Superman movie's concerned. (of course, I think this is shite, but for them it will be about dollars).

John Bomer? Yes, definitely has the face (Welling resemblance may be biasing me) and the build can be worked on and achieved...but I can't speak for his acting cos I've not seen him in anything I remember.

Routh? poor poor Routh! He's still my pick as far as supes goes, but it is pretty clear that it will not be him. This reboot will require a clean slate, so it's really really unlikely. if he does make it back on the off chance however, I've love to see him add like 20lb of muscle. He looked really lean in that suit.

Routh all the way... he was the best thing about Superman Returns now that he has gotten a little older he probably wont have as boyish of a look the next go round.. plus if they are going to reboot it..I'd really like it NOT to be another origin story.. I am sick of superman origin stories...Let's just have superman already being the hero he is.. and move on to fighting a super power baddie..... if they MUST have some kind of origin mix it in the story I dont want to sit through 30 mins of krypton at the verge of destruction then smallville before seeing superman

I think with routh they could skip the origin and go right into story... but they are probably afraid to do what Singer said he was gonna do.. by just using the old movies as a point of reference... singer obviously went beyond that and made a rehash of superman the movie.....
