In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Man Of Steel was directed by Zack Snyder, from a script written by David Goyer. The cast includes: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, Laurence Fishburne and Richard Schiff.

No rage from DC fans, we do not mind if someone pokes fun at DC in general!

That's pretty funny, but people really missed a lot of what was going on in Man of Steel.

He wasn't a blood-thirsty killer, there's always been loads of violence and destruction in the comics and cartoons, and Superman has killed before. He's even lobotomized a villain.

There needs to be character evolution with a younger Kal-El and that means learning from making a tough decision.

I mean, it's like people have never read a Superman comic or seen any of the cartoons where he's punching people THROUGH buildings while debris rains down on the citizens of Metropolis.

^ Pay close attention to the scene at 3:52.
It was literally lifted and placed into Man of Steel.

@joe don't generalize the marvel fans....there are plenty of dc fans who are crazy (the one fella who was obsessed with vanilla, level 7 and Disney)...that doesn't mean dc fans are like that......btw this is really funny
JoeMomma29
JoeMomma29 - 11/5/2013, 12:15 PM
@ Batmor

I am sorry if I struck a nerve with you but that is the truth. Marvelites not Marvel fans get their panties in a ruffle when there are joke about Marvel movies etc.... And yes there are some DC fanboys who fall in that category!
Enphlieuwince
Enphlieuwince - 11/5/2013, 12:19 PM
Lmao! Hilarious....

It isn't even the end of the page and someone has complained and another tried to explain. You guys are really caught up in the hype if you think that DC fans as a whole are somehow above rabid fanboy irrational behaviors. Yes, Marvel has some certifiable fans but so does DC.

I really miss the animated series though. They should have gotten Paul [frick]in Dini to write the movies

I wasn't a huge fan of the collateral damage in "Man of Steel" either but the animated series certainly shouldn't be pointing fingers.

Killing Zod was totally something Superman would do. Read the comics. Don't just go by the sugar-coated cartoons you grew up with like a bunch of whiny Ninja Turtle fans. Know your comic book history.

Oh, and Batman was pretty reckless with his killing machine, too. Pay close attention to how he blows crap up just to make a path for his Tumbler to get through... with KIDS in the way, no less.

In the Man of Steel sequel, when Superman finally comes face to with Luthor, I imagine Luthor berates him about the destruction of Metropolis, clearly pissing him off and whilst he keeps his composure, I want Lex to make a joke, something along the lines of 'are you going to snap my neck too?' It'd just be so fun and fitting.

MrBatmor - 11/5/2013, 12:27 PM
@joe...ok i see it now so the extreme fanboys are termed marvelites or dclites(?)...i thought you were grouping the normal fans as well...btw have you seen tdw?if so what would you rate it??
