Brian Tyler Scoring Bay's Ninja Turtles

Not sure how we missed this one...

Brian Tyler, responsible for the scores of Marvel's Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Now You See Me, Fast Five, and the popular cartoon Transformers Prime is scoring the Michael Bay-produced, Jonathan Liebesman-directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot.
When speaking with the Huffington Post back in October, Tyler said the following:

“It’s like what they did with Transformers. I, of course, remember [the 'Transformers' TV show theme song] and the comic and then they made this live-action movie and it’s really like ‘Woah this is a cinematic thing,’ and that’s what they’re going for with Turtles. There’s something that really feels like there’s a real threat and it’s a lot of fun at the same time.”

Paramount's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hit theaters (for better or worse) on August 8, 2014.

Would I be a prick to say I would take the 90's rubber suit designs over Michael Bay's, anyday....

His scores are weak and not very rememberable.

Why put "for better or worse".
Why don't put "for better or worse" in the heinsenberg news or every news .
We know nothing from the movie except for the turtle's look and they have had a good response.
Why put "for better or worse"?

Avengers theme was ok,

Incredible Hulk still has the best soundtrack IMO.

SEE?! THANK YOU! I'm not really a fan... Alan Silvestri made this uprising, aspiring theme for Avengers and his First Avenger score was so period-set, it truly was something you drum along to during your current events class...

Tyler did okay on Iron Man 3... But nothing beats Ramin's score for the 1st film. The rock suits Tony so [frick]ing flawlessly. I can't even really remember The Incredible Hulk. But the character that has gotten shat on the most is Thor. I can't remember either of his themes. And he desperately needs a sick, grungy, battle born theme. Big ass drums and cymbals.

Taylor just makes really bland pieces... Tell me if any of these movies had scores that got stuck in your head.

- Constantine
- AVP:R
- War
- Rambo '08
- Bangkok Dangerous
- Eagle Eye
- Dragonball: Evolution
- Law Abiding Citizen
- Final Destination
- Battle: Los Angeles
- Expendables

And that's his "popular" ones...

Agreed with 0mega.. his score is nothing memorable plus Rock and Metal music fits more with Iron Man franchise.

I think, this year, the best score would come from either Captain America:TWS or TASM2.

Alan Silvestri's Avengers score is utter shit. Tyler's two Marvel scores are his best work, so I say bring him back for Avengers: AU.

On the actual topic:
Cool.

Gundam Unicorn and Attack on Titan has the best musical themes at the moment.

Nothing he's ever done is remotely memorable.

Avengers theme is great but the rest, feels out of place sometimes and doesn't create enough excitement.

I think they should get Henry Jackman for Avengers: AOU or maybe a collaborative music with Alan Silvestri and Henry Jackman that would be cool.

Henry Jackman is freaking great. He's got such a range on his skill. He can be fun and thrilling, like Kick-Ass or his animated films, or freaking tense like First Class and what we've heard thus far from Winter Soldier. He'd do great!

FC still has the most enjoyable score of any CBM to this day! That says a lot considering the TDK trilogy has done more to the CBM community than any other movie to this day!

The scores in IM3 and TDW were more memorable to me than the Avengers score.

He's one of the better composers in Hollywood IMO, but damn does he ever whore himself out; just take a look at the guy's resume. He can do some outstanding work when he puts his mind to it (Children of Dune, Frailty), but he also phones it in all over the place.

Either way, I hope he continues to work with Marvel; I really enjoyed his work on IM and Thor.
