it works now, great find Lee, it looks sweet! It reminds of Loeb's superman/batman story "vengeance" where they team up with all their counterparts from other dimensions to fight this great evil. Can't wait to see this.

ANIL @ Damn, i really wished the guy who played CASEY in the 90's did a CASEY JONES spin off movie!!

I would've been a hell of a lot better than the TMNT sequels that came out!!

Though the first one is a classic!

I hope this goes more in the direction of the of the earlier take on the Turtles (the one that most people haven't heard of) and puts the emphasis on the 'ninja' rather than the 'turtle.' Looking back, I'm amazed that I willingly sat through those movies.

@ wesley

the first turtles movie was fantastic! i liked when splinter was still a rat mimicking his master and doing karate, lol.

The first two were great in my opinion, and while the third was not as dark it still was pretty truthful to the original eastman a laird stories as they themselves often had the turtles go to different planets and dimensions. And anyone with a love of those black and white stories knows that although the first six were very dark stories after that it got very comical and light. I have no problem with ridiculous turtle stories as most of the turtle stories were far out...I mean they were created for just that purpose to mock the excess of the superhero genre.

A rumor I heard a long time ago...........

The TMNT's were created by a college kid for fun. he wrote, drew, published, and sold the comics in his college book store to make a few bucks.

Some guy in the industry stumbled across it and bought the rights from the kid for $5K.

Anybody ever hear anything like that ?
thwhtGuardian
thwhtGuardian - 11/11/2009, 1:21 PM
It's something like that skunkape.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stemmed from drawing sketched out by Kevin Eastman during a night of brainstorming with his friend Peter Laird. Using money from a tax refund together with a loan from Eastman's uncle, they self-published a single issue comic intended to parody four of their favorite comics:daredevil, the new mutants, cerebus and Frank Miller's Ronin.
And the series gained commercial success after they were discovered my a merchandising agent who brought them to the attention of playates, where they were made into action figures and a cartoon t promote the toys...and the rest is history.

@ Skunk Never heard that before. Though I have read that they were created as a spoof of Marvel titles...Daredevil and New Mutants

And now Eastman owns Heavy Metal magazine and is married to Julie Strain. Plus he is a really cool guy, drew out a picture of Casey Jones for me at a con a few years back, chatting with me the whole time.

Cool find Leee

thwhtGuardian - He is really cool, if you ever get a chance to go to the San Diego con he is typically at the Heavy Metal booth, often with Bisley. At least the years that I went thats how it was, current SDCC entry costs keep me from doing anymore return visits.
thwhtGuardian
thwhtGuardian - 11/11/2009, 3:58 PM
Yeah, it is expensive I went just once with my father when I was a kid back in the early 90's.
CorndogBurglar

this looks pretty dumb. whats with all the different styles of animation? is this just a documentary type thing, or is it an actual story where all the different versions from the past meet and fight together?? that sounds terrible. can't wait for the new live action though!!!
thwhtGuardian
thwhtGuardian - 11/11/2009, 6:37 PM
I kind of like the idea of different versions meeting each other, I've always enjoyed that about the different crisis books that DC has had.

The story I had heard was on an interview with a B actress....and it was Julie Strain.

I didn't know her name......hot !

She said in an interview that she had to do her own makeup, hair, etc.,....the life of a B actress.

Then mentioned her husband was the guy who did TMNT.

Very interesting, thanks for the info.
