Michael Bay Confirms 'Krang' For TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS
As part of a profile with Rolling Stone, director Michael Bay touched on the post-production work for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows. During the lengthy piece, Bay more or less confirms the presence of classic TMNT villain, Krang. Come check it out!
As the release date for Michael Bay's latest directorial venture, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldieres Of Benghazi, nears, Rolling Stone has released their extensive interview with the director where he somewhat inadvertently reveals a handful of very interesting details about a couple of his upcoming projects, including Paramount Pictures' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows.
It's been known for quite some time that the upcoming sequel to the hit 2014 film would feature the return of The Shredder as well as the introduction of a pair of classic TMNT villains, Bebop & Rocksteady, but would that be it? After the release of the first official trailer, which contained a handful of well-placed Easter eggs, many fans began to wonder if the sequel would feature the live-action debut of another classic Turtles villain - Krang. Based on recent comments from Bay, who serves as a producer on the feature, it sounds like we most definitely will.
During their chat with Bay, Rolling Stone witnessed a conversation between Bay and visual-effects supervisor Pablo Helmen where Bay was offering his opinion on Krang's final look. Check out the exchange below:
They start with Ninja Turtles animation. Pablo Helman, a visual-effects supervisor who worked on the Star Wars prequels, appears onscreen and shows Bay the latest version of Krang, a new-to-the-movies villain who is, essentially, a disembodied brain inside a giant robot. "So we've eliminated the tentacles," Helman explains. "Is it too monster-ish?"
"He could have some tentacles," says Bay. "I just don't want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus."
Considering how good and comic-accurate both Bebop & Rocksteady look, it sounds like Bay & company are hard at work making sure Krang looks just as good, if not better.

The Ninja Turtles comes into conflict with T.C.R.I. scientist Dr. Baxter Stockman with the association of the Foot Clan and the return of the Shredder, who has hired Stockman to create mutants of their own in the form of Bebop and Rocksteady and an unknown invasion above New York City. To prevent the end of the world, the turtles and their human friends April O'Neil and Vern Fenwick comes to the aid with vigilante Casey Jones.
