Over on Reddit, a user by the name of harpster604 passed along a feel-good story involving Paramount going above-and-beyond by providing his cousin with a private screening of their new movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. See, his cousin happens to suffer from a debilitating disease known as Duchenne muscular dystrophy and it had prevented him from going to the theater to see it. But with some help from Reddit and Paramount that huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan was able to see the film he was excited for. And yes, according to his cousin "he loved every minute of it!"
My cousin is the biggest TMNT fan that I know of, and has been since childhood. I remember when him and his brother first introduced me to the turtles in the early 90s when they showed me the original movie. Right now, his entire room is full of TMNT stuff. All year he’s been excited about the new movie.

Unfortunately, he suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy and is no longer able to go to the movie theaters. He cannot move from his bed and has to be hooked to a ventilator and feeding tube. This has made it impossible for him to go see TMNT, and he has been asking me for months if there is any way for him to get to see it when it comes out.

Last night he actually got to watch the movie, via an iPad + HDMI cable sent to his house by Paramount! This all fell into place when I thought about posting this to reddit to see if anyone would be willing to help out. I decided to message the r/movies mods beforehand to see if this was appropriate, and to my surprise one of the mods, /u/kleinbl00, knew someone who had worked on the movie and offered to help out! Because of him and his connection, I was able to get in contact with Paramount corporate in order to make this possible. - harpster604

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. @IronAngelX Agreed. I know it's not a big deal, but these kinds of gestures gives me hope that our society isn't totally [frick]ed despite what's happening in Ferguson right now.

@Reasonnnn

It's all over the world. Bigotry, bias, hate. I know what you mean, I've been following everything that's going in Iraq and all the people that have been forced to leave their homes. I need a dose of positive like this in my life.

Reminds of when The Dark Knight Rises thing happened and how horrible it was and then a couple of days later Christian Bale went and visited the people who were in the hospital and also visited the memorial or shrine for those who had been killed.

Awww this is amazing.
It's great when big, greedy corporations do something wonderful for someone else.
Even if they do hope to get a PR spin on things, it's all just semantics.
What matters is that he had a wonderful experience.

See, this is what film is all about. It's stuff like this that makes me smile. Not only was this not about "the money" but this just goes to show how genuine studios are. Good on ya, Paramount. Good-[frick]ing-on ya.
