TMNT: MUTANT MAYHEM - Find Out If You Should Stay Seated For A Mid Or Post-Credits Scene

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem hits theaters this week, and you can find out if you should stay in your seat for a mid or post-credits scene right here (no spoilers)...

Post-credits scenes were popularized in superhero movies as a way to set up future instalments in a franchise, but they've almost become the norm for major studio blockbusters (and more besides) in general over the past few years.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem arrives in theaters this week (it's actually out today in certain locations), and co-director Jeff Rowe has already made it clear that he'd love to helm a sequel if this film is successful, so it probably won't surprise you to learn that the animated reboot does indeed feature a stinger.

The scene in question comes in shorty after the end of the movie, but there's nothing after that, so no need to stay in your seat until the credits have fully rolled.

No spoilers for now (check back soon for a full breakdown), but we'll just say that long-time fans of the Heroes in the Half-Shell won't be disappointed with what occurs in the sequence!

Let us know if you've seen or are planning to see Mutant Mayhem in the comments, and check out a new featurette detailing the origins of the Fearsome Foursome below.

“After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”

Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon will voice the roles of Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael, respectively. The cast also includes Jackie Chan as Splinter, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.

Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. the Machines) directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which is produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

@kazuma - knew it. No way they would include the direct to vide stuff.

Although way too soon for the tomorrowverse to do Crisis

Should have gone with the DCAU cast and design. Thats a fully realized dc universe

Whats the point of focusing the end of the multiverse on a universe that has only just began

@dracula - I think it might simply put a cap and give closure to the other animated universes.

Could give closure to young justice.

And the new 52 movies.
Could also (maybe but doubtful), introduce the new Wonder Woman animated show.

I saw it this past Saturday. I really really liked it. The music is great, all the voices are fantastic, April was great, and there was a decent message for the movie. My only complaint is the constant product placement and name drop. It's a lot, but then again they were raised on television. Don't do it ever again and I'll let it slide. Gotta give it a 8 because of such. COWABUNGA

They race swapped April O'Neil. No way I can recommend the film to anyone.

Can we petition Hollywood to only do mid credit scenes and no more post credit ones? It sucks waiting that hole time, especially when many of them are lame these days.

It's gotta be a SHREDDER tease. Which is predictable, but not unwelcome. Maybe it'll be something different though?

@PC04 -
Yep, just a rough outline of Shredder's shadow - naturally he's going to be subservient to Cynthia Utrom though :L

@Scarilian - my theory is she’s gonna be a disguised Krang

For those wondering, it's a generic Shredder tease, apparently he's sort of working for Cynthia Utrom who is probably a very blatant reference to the Utrom's/Krang.
