TMNT SCOOP: Leaked Shredder Image Hiding Another Villain In Plain Sight

Yesterday, a source "close to the production" sent us images of the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their arch-nemesis, Shredder. Yet everyone overlooked a major spoiler that was hiding in plain sight. Another villain!

Besides the leaked images from yesterday, ComicBookMovie.com was provided with information regarding the Michael Bay-produced, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A source "close to the production" instructed us to take a good hard look at the abdominal region on the leaked image of Shredder (played by William Fichtner). Do you see it? Our source tells us that's KRANG!

Krang - Prior to the start of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, Krang was in command of an army of Rock Soldiers under the leadership of General Traag, and took the completed Technodrome, a powerful mobile battle fortress, and banished Von Drakus who helped Krang build it to Earth. When he was banished from Dimension X, Krang was stripped of his body and reduced to a brain-like form.

Krang allied himself with the Shredder, who, along with his robotic Foot Soldier army, moved into the Technodrome. In exchange, the Shredder had to design and build a new body for Krang, a human-shaped exo-suit. Shredder lived up to his part of the bargain in the season 1 episode "Shredder was Splintered", in no small part because he was unable to deal with the Turtles and needed Krang's help. - Wikipedia

Before you freak out, there are two possibilities. One is that Shredder and Krang are one-in-the-same. Or, it's the traditional version of Krang slightly tweaked. Let me explain. Krang is a body-less creature, and Shredder in the original animated series built him a human-like body so that he could move around and such. Thus, that image above could be of a Shredder-like body that was built specifically for Krang.

A third possibility was mentioned by several users in the comment section. Perhaps it is not Krang, but actually Ch'rell (aka Utrom Shredder). Who was a Utrom that impersonated The Shredder. Big thanks to our smart commenters for pointing this out.

Update! Our source tells us, Krang and Shredder will be one and the same. Won't be Ch'rell.

William Fichtner's past quotes just got a whole lot more interesting.
Well I play a guy named Eric Sachs and we find out that Eric Sachs is somebody else too. I can’t give away too much in the story but I can tell you that who Shredder is in the telling of this Turtles is unlike any telling of the story before. His connection and relationship to the turtles is a bit surprising.

TMNT part start at 12:00 mark

NINJA TURTLES will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman ("Wrath of the Titans"), and produced by Michael Bay ("The Rock"). The script was written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, based on characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The cast includes: Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Danny Woodburn as Splinter, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Will Arnett as Vernon and William Fichtner as Shredder. It lands in theaters June 6th, 2014.

In the last TMNT cartoon from the early 2000s krang was the Shredder so this actually makes sense.

that'd be pathetic to have krang inside shredder

I don't think so.
I mean, Krang could still be in the movie and in Shredder's abdomen, but that is NOT krang in that cover image. That's just his undershirt poking out from the Armour.

Ya bfprimetime is right Krang was the Shredder in the 2003 TMNT cartoon except there he wasn't the speech impediment joke he was in the original 80' cartoon.

I believe nothing at this point. There's so many rumors about everything nowadays it's impossible to take anything at face value. If we could get Krang, Rockstesdy and Bebop that'd be awesome. But I ain't holding my breath.

While that iteration of The Shredder/Krang/Uutrom has indeed been done before (In the successful 2000-something run) , I think this is a big stretch with this picture.

If you look closely, the armor sits above the body... In an exo-suit manner... (Elysium, but bigger attachments), which makes me think it's a man with technology.

If this design resembled the movie version of the Silver Samurai (in bulkiness & being fully filled out), THEN I could go for this Krang theory.

We see what we expect to see. Since we were told that was Krang, most people will see Krang in the abdomen of Michael Bay's Shredder. Personally, I don't see it. I see Shredder's abdomen concealed by his traditional purple undershirt.

They had a side joke that one of the utrom was named Krang but they weren't the same. Krang's species was from dimension X. The utrom we from some planet. In the c rossover movie where all the different turtles met they went into all that a little. They were similar. I'll give you that.

this kind of reminds me of the rumor that the turtles would be aliens. turns out to not be true but rumors have to come from somewhere. what if shredder is the alien? as for shredder having a 'suprising' relationship with the turtles, what if shredder is revealed to be their creator. that would technically make the turtles aliens by creation. just spit ballin here tho...

I think that's just part of his armor...I'm not buying this, I hope it's not Utrom Shredder

I think Shredder is related to Baraka from Mortal Kombat! Resemblance is totally uncanny it must also be true!

The Uutroms were from the comics and were the inspiration for Krang in the 80's cartoon. Then the '03 cartoon used the Uutroms, and the new Nickelodeon cartoon merged the Uutroms and Krang together to from the Kraang.

It looks like an oval shaped armor plate to me...

Yah, Bfprimetime is right. In the 2003 TMNT cartoon, Shredder was an Utrom:

Sounds pretty Dookie Sticks to me.

I know Krangs origin body is pretty boring, but its supposed to be. I dont see a Krang/Shredder connect here, but if it was, they better make it more weird than it sounds. I'm talking, uncomfortable.
