A month ago, it was revealed that William Fichtner had been cast in Michael Bay and Jonathan Liebesman's reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. However, his role was kept a secret. Today, in an interview with Huffington Post Canada, the actor finally revealed who he will be playing!
What are you doing in "Ninja Turtles"?
I play Shredder. It is cool. It's one of those things that came along where I thought, "Really? Let me think about this for a minute." [Laughs] Then I was like, "Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey." I'm very glad that it worked out, I'm really glad that I'm doing it.
So there it is! Fichtner is playing a new version of The Shredder, as many fans speculated. However, this seems to be a much different version of the character typically portrayed in the comics, TV shows and movies! Time will tell when
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes out next June!
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman ("Wrath of the Titans"), and produced by Michael Bay ("The Rock"). The script was written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, based on characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The cast includes: Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Danny Woodburn as Splinter, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, and Will Arnett as April's cameraman. It lands in theaters June 6th, 2014.
