When the original film, The Crow hit theatres way back in 1994, fans of the comic book and film were brought together in sorrow as the star of the film was killed on set. Since then the title character has appeared in multiple sequels, TV shows and comic books. But now this might be the right time for the cult hero to finally get his name on the map once again. British actor Luke Evans, who will star as The Crow in the 2015 remake/reboot of the original, talked a little about the film, praising the script and director.
"It's a great script, really great script, a fantastic director - Javier Gutierrez, a Spanish director whose work is fantastic," says Evans. "We've been chatting about it for a while now. It's been sort of simmering away and I have a lot of passion for that role. I remember it vividly from when I was a kid. It still resonates to this day."
"I hope people will be able to sort of enjoy a new version of the story and allow a fresh set of eyes on it and don't worry too much about it being exactly like the last one," Evans told Empire. "Because I think there is a bit of a cult following to this. People have a sort of ownership of the original. But it's been twenty years this year. It's quite a long time since [the first film]. I'm very happy about it."
The Crow remake/reboot is set to hit theatres sometime in 2015 and will star Luke Evans.
