Some official concept art for director F. Javier Gutierrez’s now defunct remake of The Crow found its way online earlier this year, and we now have a first look at some test shots from Corin Hardy's more recent attempt to bring James O’Barr’s beloved graphic novel to the screen.
The images (and brief footage) give us a first look at Aquaman star Jason Momoa donning the iconic face-paint of resurrected avenger Eric Draven. This project very nearly came to fruition, but stalled when both Hardy and Momoa were forced to step away due to scheduling conflicts, and the studio ultimately pulled the plug.
Another filmmaker may attempt to re-adapt The Crow at some point, but the news may not be met with a particularly enthusiastic response. While some were disappointed that this reboot never saw the light of day, many feel Alex Proyas’ 1994 take on the material starring the late Brandon Lee did a perfect job of adapting the story and should be left alone.
What do you guys think? Would Momoa have suited this role? Drop us a comment down below.
