Earth 2 Will Appear On THE FLASH Sooner Than Fans Might Think Next Season

Last year, The Flash surprised many hardcore fans of the hero by introducing a whole host of fan-favorite characters and elements from the comics. When the show was first announced, many doubted The CW series would possess the sufficient VFX budget to tackle characters like the Scarlet Speedster and his rogues. In the end, the show's creators exceeded fan expectations, incorporating the likes of 'Firestorm', 'Gorilla Grodd' and even time-travel - all in one season!

According to showrunner and executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, they're "trying to do the same thing this year", and are looking to incorporate "
Earth 2 and the concept of the multiverse and the concept of dopplegangers" very early on in the show's sophomore run. Speaking to EW, Kreisberg claimed that the writers have "been having a lot of fun with that and getting glimpses of Earth 2 probably sooner than people would’ve thought.”

Could we perhaps get our first of these glimpses in the upcoming season premiere? Many believe Barry will make the trip to Earth 2 in his attempt to stop the giant singularity from the Season 1 finale. What do you think? Are you excited to see the writers delving further into DC Comics lore?

The Flash Season 2 premieres Tuesday, October 6 on The CW.

Could it be possible that the reason they're moving this fast because eventually it'll connect to the cinematic universe? Probably just a dream though.

I'm looking forward to Arrow next season actually. Despite the terrible 3rd season. I want to see how they deal with Barry time traveling and what changes it made to the Arrow side of things. If they ignore it, I'll be pissed.

Earth 2 should be the cinematic universe and they should be building towards a Crisis on Infinite Movie and TV Verses film.

Fans should be campaigning for this.

this show is awesome; what would make it better is if they showed glimpses of the multiverse and at least imply that the flash movie is another universe, that the donner's supes movies are another universe, that the different DC live series belong to another universe and so on.

That would be amazing and would imply that everything is connected in a different way than your usual cb universe...

The singularity does seem to be a convenient device to use in getting to Earth-Two. It's evident that it's going to happen sometime fairly soon anyway. However the thing to note is that one of the very earliest Barry Allen/Jay Garrick crossovers involved not just the Justice Society, but also Vandal Savage. Yes, Vandal Savage was originally an Earth-Two villain before Crisis on Infinite Earths changed all of that. Of course this is not the same universe, but I have found over my 50 plus years of reading DC Comics is that different universes have interesting similarities and differences and Vandal Savage is likely going to be introduced somewhere and that is far more likely going to be The Flash than Arrow before heading into Legends of Tomorrow. Of course I think old Vandar Adg (original name) will show up on the radar in both series.

This scenario reminds me of the introduction of The Borg on Star Trek: The Next Generation second season episode entitled Q Who? which was essentially a scouting mission thanks to Q. An unintended trip to Earth-Two could serve a similar function if Barry encounters Vandal Savage while there and barely escapes by the skin of his teeth. Then Legends of Tomorrow serves as the ST:TNG The Best of Both Worlds, First Contact and so forth even if there are other incidences leading up to the new series.

Of course if you speak in terms of Doctor Who The Borg is perhaps something like The Daleks only they say exterminate rather than resistance is futile while Vandal Savage might be more like The Master. Still Vandal Savage like The Master is very likely to have some formidable forces and technology at his command, which could include minions that are as formidable as The Borg or The Daleks. They would have to be if a speedster like Barry Allen barely escapes or even if as in the original story Vandal had defeated the JSA and it took the two speedsters combined and working together to rescue them.

Whatever happens I'll be interested in seeing what they come up with. I wouldn't be surprised if Vibe is an important element in this story and I'm still speculating about how Caitlin becomes Killer Frost, what happens concerning Harrison Wells, Wally West and so on down the line and which of these and other characters experience life changing developments during this singularity crisis.

I'm betting it's Earth 2 from the very start. That's probably where the vortex pulled Barry.

Exciting news it will be very interesting to see which universe is earth 2. Id like to see a Smallville crossover and Jay Garrick could come from that universe. Also seeing the Flashpoint storyline would be great to see. I think the DC film Universe could be Earth 2 or Earth 22 Kingdom come or the Dark Knight Returns universe.

I want them to end the DCEU and DCTVU together. Fans will blow off the roof even if one of the movies or shows gives a hint that they are indeed part of a Multiverse, that being said i don't want the Tv actors in the Movies or vice versa but i want them to know about their existence and also have a one or two lines of dialogues dedicated to that subject. My Englishing isn't that good though.

I don't think any CW/DCEU crossover is going to happen either, but I harbor no ill will or have any real problems with those who want to think that way. In the same corporate climate which produced Spider-Man appearing via Sony in the MCU (and also in the same world where apparently fan outcry forced Fox to change Dr. Doom from Trank's original vision), I find it weird that people still think that these sorts of things are impossible. And tbh, I find it really weird that CW's allowed to use some characters because they will appear in film (and apparently, we peons are easily confused by different media), but are still allowed to use other characters that will also appear in film. Honestly, I really wish DC would just throw away the embargoes all together and develop separate cinematic and television universes. And with Flash playing around in the multi-verse, it shows no harm to either franchise to say, "yeah, that also exists." Just my two cents.
