Last year, The Flash surprised many hardcore fans of the hero by introducing a whole host of fan-favorite characters and elements from the comics. When the show was first announced, many doubted The CW series would possess the sufficient VFX budget to tackle characters like the Scarlet Speedster and his rogues. In the end, the show's creators exceeded fan expectations, incorporating the likes of 'Firestorm', 'Gorilla Grodd' and even time-travel - all in one season!
According to showrunner and executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, they're "trying to do the same thing this year", and are looking to incorporate "Earth 2 and the concept of the multiverse and the concept of dopplegangers" very early on in the show's sophomore run. Speaking to EW, Kreisberg claimed that the writers have "been having a lot of fun with that and getting glimpses of Earth 2 probably sooner than people would’ve thought.”
Could we perhaps get our first of these glimpses in the upcoming season premiere? Many believe Barry will make the trip to Earth 2 in his attempt to stop the giant singularity from the Season 1 finale. What do you think? Are you excited to see the writers delving further into DC Comics lore?
The Flash Season 2 premieres Tuesday, October 6 on The CW.
