Gorilla Grodd Could Be The Main Villain Of THE FLASH Season 3

Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg likened Gorilla Grodd to Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) from Arrow in that the Batman villain was heavily built-up before having a significant presence on the show. Kreisberg said season 2 is all about Zoom but Grodd is long-term.

Andrew Kreisberg just finished up his Winter TCA Panel, touching on the news that Kevin Smith (Mallrats, Dogma) would be delivering an episode of The Flash.  He added that just because Smith and Mark Hamill are good friends, that doesn't mean The Trickster will be returning in Smith's episode.  When asked about the return of another villain, Kreisberg stated that Grodd won't be back this season but that doesn't mean he's gone for good. In fact, Kreisberg's comments could be taken to mean that Grodd will become a primary antagonist for The Flash in a future season.

"I would liken the Gorilla City thing to Ra’s al Ghul. You know, you hear about “the man from Nanda Par Bat” in [Arrow] Season 1, and “the man who showed Malcolm the way,” and then you met Nyssa, then in Season 3 you met Ra’s. So, it’s a long-term thing."

The Flash returns from mid-season hiatus on Januray 18th at 8/7c on The CW.

@Th0rOdinson He is supersmart and he is going to have help from the other intelligent Apes on Gorilla City. It would safe to say that he is going to retrieve or build a device to travel through both earths.

Vikings Kicker will need to move out of the State for safety reasons.
Grodd as the main villain would be a master stroke since he was been developing since season 1. He helps build tension when the villains are organic as opposed to just popping up.

I would love that. Grodd's always been my favorite Flash villain.

I think it's awesome that Grodd might be the main villain for Season 3...but part of me wonders if the reason we haven't seen Mirror Master yet is because they either haven't figured out his character yet...

...or because WB has him being the main villain for the 2018 Flash movie.

Yep! I called it as soon as Grodd was introduced, setting him up as a main villain will be bananas (corny pun intended)

That would be cool for Grodd to be the big bad for next season, but that would completely drain their budget by episode 4 or 5.As much as I like the idea,The quality of the show may suffer greatly because of this.

Having Grodd as the main villain of Season 3 would be better than seeing another speedster.

That's cool. I like Grodd.

I guess they can afford to not keep him in shadows or dark rooms for more than one episode.

I actually wanted this to happen. I would never say this for a CW showsl but color me excited for S3. Groff as a S3 villain means a Planet of the apes style Flash S3 and I am on board with it. Hopefully they deliver. Season 2 has been dull and by the looks of it season 3 could very well change that.
