Jeffrey Dean Morgan Unsure Of His Future As BATMAN Now Zack Snyder Has Left The DC Extended Universe

Ever since he first appeared as Thomas Wayne at the start of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans have been hoping that Jeffrey Dean Morgan might get the opportunity to suit up as the Flashpoint version of Batman (especially as Warner Bros. was said to be working on a big screen adaptation of that storyline). Unfortunately, it sounds like it probably won't end up happening for the foreseeable.

During an interview at Comic-Con to promote the upcoming ninth season of The Walking Dead, he explained that Zack Snyder's departure from the DC Extended Universe has changed things.

"I’ll keep talking about it just because it’s really fun to talk about, and I really would like Warner Bros. to open their ears a little bit. When Zack Snyder was involved in the DC world more, I think there was a real possibility, but now that he’s kinda stepped away a little bit - I’ve heard different things, that Flashpoint might not be going in that direction, it’ll be more of an origin story for Flash."

That lines up with what we've heard since John Francis Daly and Jonathan Goldstein were hired to direct The Flash but Morgan was quick to point out that he would still say yes if he's offered the role of this alternate universe version of Batman. "I’m always here, and would love to do it." Unfortunately, the chances of that becoming a reality in this current iteration of the
DCEU are extremely slim...
