Michael Ironside To Play The Father Of 'Captain Cold' In THE FLASH

Wentworth Mller's Captain Cold is set to take on a leading role in DC's Legends of Tomorrow, but will also appear in season two of The Flash. It looks like we'll get to know him much better too, as it has been confirmed today that Leonard's father has been cast...

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Ironside is set to appear in The Flash as Lewis Snart, the father of Leonard (a.k.a. Captain Cold) and Lisa (a.k.a. Golden Glider). Will he also be a bad guy? Well, the official description says that he's a cold-blooded, ruthless career criminal. Recently released from prison, he returns to Central City with a plan that will endanger both of his children.

In the comics, Leonard's father is abusive towards his children and he ended up being brought up by his grandfather, the owner of an ice truck (how much of that will factor into the series is hard to say). Ironside - who you may remember as Lois Lane's father in Smallville - will make his debut in the third episode which is titled "Family Of Rogues". What do you guys think of this casing choice?

He'll always be Jester to me. It'd be cool for him and Tom Skerritt to return to TG 2 to give Maverick advice.

No. Cold sounds like he's asking a passive aggressive question every time he talks.

Michael Ironside IS Darkseid!!!

No one has ever come close in their voice performance! (Except maybe Ron Perlman as Deathstroke in TT)

Michael Ironside is the ONE and TRUE DARKSEID. His voice is so menacing and intimidating. He should play Darkseid in the DCCU. Who can top him, come on

I still really want Michael Campbell to play Leonard Wynters again as Captain Cold's grandpa even if it is only a quick flashback. Hopefully Katie Cassidy's dad, David Cassidy will be back as Mirror Master - Sam Scudder this season as a mentor to McCulloch like the Tricksters episode.

Sure, cast a 65 year old actor as Darkseid. Why not.

I'm reading the Darkseid War and I put Michael's voice when Darkseid appears (also Kevin Conroy's voice when Batman)
