The Fastest Man Alive Takes on the Big Screen

The Fastest Man Alive Takes on the Big Screen

The Flash movie is moving at a snails pace and looks to probably not come out for quite some time. I wrote the first part to a short screen play that could be the premise for the proposed Flash movie.

I know many believe the Flash is not a strong enough character to carry his own movie. Others, mostly Flash fans, do believe so. He has his short run as a TV show and was a minor success. On Justice League Unlimited he provided comedy relief and when he got serious was a true underdog. Flash has loads of history just like other DC heavy hitters Superman and Batman. Unlike Supes and Bats the Flash however has had many to carry the mantle. This makes it difficult onto which Flash to portray on the big screen. I personally believe Wally West would be the best to portray due to his smart mouth and being the most recent Flash he could appeal to a larger audience. Since the Flash does have so much history and so many villains writers have a multitude of stories to pull from. The problem with Wally is his origin is pretty weak. Just like Barry Allen he was doused with chemicals. Not exactly exciting to watch on screen and would seem very anti-climatic. The movie should start much like that of Justice League the New Frontier and have the Flash as an already existent character. I warn you this is rather lengthy so read if you have time.

A group of five masked men wearing visors enter a bank and pull out guns. They scream this is a robbery and tell everyone to lay flat on the floor. One man takes the lead and explains he does not want anyone to try and be a hero and that if everyone remained calm they would not be hurt. Two other men help the man in the lead watch all the people and two others have the clerks fill bags with money. At that moment the doors fly open and a gust of wind blows by the gun men. The men getting the money are laying on the floor as the Flash stand over them smiling. One of the gun men than takes a hostage and tells the Flash to back off or he will splatter this woman’s brains all over. The leader pleas with the other gunman telling him this was not the plan and they were not supposed to hurt anyone. With lightening speed the flash takes the gun out of the man’s hand. The other two gun men then open fire on the Flash. The Flash dodged the bullets with ease and took out the two remaining gunmen.

Outside the bank the Flash stands victorious as the police take the gunmen away. The Flash is being interviewed by several news stations and he remarks with arrogance how easy it was taking the thugs out. Linda Park for channel 4 news then approaches Flash. The Flash then states obviously flirting that he just wants to keep Keystone citizens like Ms. Park safe. Linda Park ignores Flash and perceives him as annoying. Caught up in all the hype Flash says he is late and zooms off leaving the media behind in a cloud of dust.

The Flash is seen running behind an Auto Mechanics Shop and then seconds later Wally West walks around the building and inside. “10 minutes late Wally, when are you ever going to be on time?!?” yells a man. “Sorry Jim I lost track of time”. “It better not happen again, you think the city with the fastest man alive its citizens would take note and be on time, I bet the Flash is never late!” yells Jim.

The scene cuts to a police interrogation room with one of the gun men unmasked as a bald man still wearing his visors. A cop talks to Detective Fred Chyre. “His name is Leonard Snart, he is a career criminal been in and out of the joint. He apparently was the leader of this little operation. Won’t say much, seems pretty loyal to who ever hired him”. Fred replies in a gruff voice “Don’t worry I’ll get the ugly bastard to talk”. Fred enters the room and sits down. Leonard looks over with a smirk. Fred says “Listen Leonard your buddies all sang like birds. You’re going to go away for a long time. Help yourself out, we know you guys didn’t come up with this robbery on your own, tell us who hired you and maybe we can give you some slack”. Leonard looks over still with a smirk and replies “Don’t know who hired me, just some shadowy figure.”

Wally is then seen walking into an apartment building. Wally unlocks his door and enters his apartment. Trash and empty pizza boxes litter the floor. Wally sits down on the couch exhausted and turns on the TV to channel 4 news which is covering the foiled bank robbery. Someone then knocks on the door and Wally yells “come in”. An older lady walks in and says “Lord Wally this place is a pig sty, I hate to bother you but you’re a week late on rent. I know your good for it but I need it soon”. “Don’t worry Martha I promise I’ll have it to you next week”. “Ok that sounds splendid.” She looks down at all the empty pizza boxes. “I don’t understand how you can eat so much junk food and remain so skinny?” Wally points to a treadmill in the corner, which is covered in dirty laundry and trash “I run a lot” says Wally. “Well at least come over and let me cook you a decent meal.” Wally gets up and follows Martha across the hall to her apartment.

Leonard Snart is sitting quietly in his jail cell when a police officer walks over “Someone has posted your bail Snart.” Snart gets up and leaves’ still wearing his visor, outside the police station is a long black limousine. Snart gets into the back. He sits next to a man wearing a black suit, sun glasses, and a black top hat. Snart immediately pleas “I’m sorry Mr. Swift, we didn’t think the Flash would show up.” Mr. Swift then replies in an English accent “Oh poor Leonard, you must always expect the unexpected but, next time you will be prepared.” With his cane he points to a newspaper who’s headline reads “S.T.A.R. Labs Create New Cyclotron Technology”. Mr. Swift explains “This new Cyclotron technology charges particles and sends them in a bream, these particles make slow The Flash down.” Snart smiles and assures Mr. Swift he will be prepared next time.

This is the end of Part 1. I am working on part 2 right now. Obviously this is very short for a whole movie but I tried to sum up a lot of points in a few scenes. Let me know what you think.

Nice I like it! Great opening. I have been trying to finish a Flash piece myself, but.... my Legion of Doom piece has kind of gotten away from me. I like the fact that you made Shade the villain so far, and that is a great way to introduce Captain Cold. Look forward to part 2.

HAWK out.

Here's a point you probably didn't think about an origin comparesion. Spidey was bitten by a Radioactive spider, that not exactly exciting either, but I believe its were you take the story that is important.

I would like to see a Flash Movie!

I would love a Flash movie, I think it would be exciting to have some type of reference to maybe the other Flashes even if they are short ones, I appreciate the history of our heroes, hopefully this movie will be a success.

I've been waiting for a Flash movie for a long time. I hope they speed up the process. Anyone have any casting ideas? I'm thinking if they do Wally West, they need to cast someone like Owen Wilson, maybe.
