THE FLASH Deleted Scene Reveals The Pilot Originally Contained A Nod To 'Aquaman'

We've seen our fair share of comic book related easter eggs from The Flash, including nods to both 'Green Lantern' and The Flash Museum - but this one might just take the cake. Ahead of Season 1's official release on Blu-Ray and DVD on September 22, Entertainment Weekly have unveiled a great little deleted scene which will is sure to make DC fans chuckle.

The scene in question follows Jesse L. Martin's Joe West scolding Grant Gustin's Barry Allen for his endless wild goose chases after "urban legends". When Barry argues back, Joe bluntly remarks that his last venture involved "a man who could talk to fish" in Amnesty Bay. That man, of course, is 'Arthur Curry' a.k.a. 'Aquaman'. You can check out the scene below.

With Jason Momoa set to portray the King of Atlantis in the DCEU, it's likely this was removed in order to prevent fans from getting their hopes up about an Aquaman appearance on the show. However, it's still a fun little reference, so it's a bit of a shame it had to be cut in the end!

The Flash premieres Tuesday, October 6 on The CW.
