THE FLASH: Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne Is Ready To Get Nuts In Newly Released Still

A fun new still has been released from The Flash featuring Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne looking like he's ready to get nuts after revealing the Batcave to the past and present versions of Barry Allen...

Prior to the formation of DC Studios, Michael Keaton was being lined up as the DCEU's new Batman. Replacing Ben Affleck, the actor was set to don the cape and cowl in Batgirl and a Batman Beyond project reuniting him with Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman.

Those plans have since gone out of the window as the new DCU will see The Batman franchise starring Robert Pattinson continue as its own thing, with The Brave and the Bold set to introduce a new Dark Knight (and Robin).

We will still get to enjoy seeing Keaton back in action as Bruce Wayne in The Flash, of course, and a new image from the movie shows the character in his Batcave. It looks like the hero is about to hit a switch that fully reveals his lair to the two versions of Barry Allen, and upon closer inspection, we can see the Wayne Enterprises logo on his jumpsuit.

The Twitter account that shared the image/GIF, which is dedicated to sharing uncompressed movie trailers, claims this is from a different cut of The Flash trailer that's set to play exclusively in theaters.

We don't know how much more new footage it will showcase beyond this scene, but expect to see it in front of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania this weekend.

Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.

That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian...albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?

The Flash will finally race into theaters on June 16.

@ReverseFlasher - he better say it when being asked by Barry to suit up, or when he comes face to face with Zod

This film is so pointless now.

@DocSpock - If this movie is a slam dunk, WB will scrap Gunn’s plans quicker than the hired and then fired again Henry Cavill.

@PlusUltra -

There is zero chance of that. WB is (maybe stupidly) all in on the Gunn run new DCU. The box office good or bad will mean nothing.

@DocSpock - It resets the whole DCEU into the DCU its far from pointless.

@AliX -

It'll be forgotten like old worn out clothes 3 months after it hits TV if not sooner.

@AliX - While it does push the reset button it does so in a very sloppy way. After WB basically messed up with Justice League I've always seen The Flash movie as a way to press reset but in a good way with a Flashpoint story including all major players. Instead, we're getting the discount version more or less.

Also both Shazam and Blue Beetle are going to be retconned into the DCU and Aquaman 2 is seemingly going to be left in the ether. Somewhere in its own corner of the multiverse. I just don't know how I feel about this reset knowing that a lot of actors didn't get a proper send-off.

If Gunn is using The Flash and the introduction of the multiverse as a way to press the reset button then it can also be used as a way to keep everyone on board and finish their stories. You can easily use the multiverse as an argument as to why we have the DCU, DCEU and Elseworlds-type stories such as Joker and Pattison's Batman.

Doubt what?

In a strange twist of fate, it’d be hilarious if The Flash ends up being the best CBM of the year.

@PlusUltra - with GoTG on the horizon, I doubt it. but it does looks good. I just wonder if it can get way with the Endgame nostalgia fanservice parade when it doesn't have, well, the fanbase the MCU had around 2019.

@Spidey91 - But truthfully, we don’t really have a proper idea of how good or bad this movie is going to be. With Guardians, we know what to expect, more or less. But this is truly a wild card.

@PlusUltra - Watch it be the best comic book movie of the year... with Marvel slipping lately & Ant-Man 3 getting meh reviews I think its DC's time to shine, & under James Gunn it looks to be in good hands.

@PlusUltra - Well if we're suppose to believe Gunn it's one of the best superhero movies he's ever seen. But him being the head of DC Studios makes his statement maybe not so objective.

@Spidey91 - My money is on David Fincher's The Killer for best CBM of the year.

And Across the SpiderVerse or Goth Vol3 for best superhero movie.

@GhostDog - he looks like he's auditioning to be the new Joker of the DCU.

Plot twist, the Joker of the DCU is a corrupted Batman from another universe.

@McMurdo - Yeah, similar to their crappy Home Alone and Santa Clause stuff. Some things adapt well to modern storytelling like National Treasure (fun, not great) and Willow (similar but more fun IMO) and some should stay where it is.

This will at least break even because of Keaton, I'll always see something at least once

The thing I love about Batman is that he is always calm and cool under pressure and is always at least one-step ahead of everyone else. This pic shows the opposite of that :(. So he's both smiling Batman and now maniac looking Batman, ugh
ReverseFlasher

@WarMonkey - its a BTS still… highly doubt when he flicks the switch hes gonna be looking into the camera and laughing maniacally.
FireandBlood

@WarMonkey - Keaton’s Batman was always insane. People often forgot this because nostalgia, but Keaton even said he plays him as if he’s a psychopath.
