Prior to the formation of DC Studios, Michael Keaton was being lined up as the DCEU's new Batman. Replacing Ben Affleck, the actor was set to don the cape and cowl in Batgirl and a Batman Beyond project reuniting him with Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman.
Those plans have since gone out of the window as the new DCU will see The Batman franchise starring Robert Pattinson continue as its own thing, with The Brave and the Bold set to introduce a new Dark Knight (and Robin).
We will still get to enjoy seeing Keaton back in action as Bruce Wayne in The Flash, of course, and a new image from the movie shows the character in his Batcave. It looks like the hero is about to hit a switch that fully reveals his lair to the two versions of Barry Allen, and upon closer inspection, we can see the Wayne Enterprises logo on his jumpsuit.
The Twitter account that shared the image/GIF, which is dedicated to sharing uncompressed movie trailers, claims this is from a different cut of The Flash trailer that's set to play exclusively in theaters.
We don't know how much more new footage it will showcase beyond this scene, but expect to see it in front of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania this weekend.
Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.
That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian...albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?
The Flash will finally race into theaters on June 16.
