THE FLASH Season One Was An Alternate Timeline, But Will We Ever See The Original?

The Flash executive producer Andrew Kresiberg says the first season of The CW's Flash is an alternate timeline. With that in mind, will we ever see the original, pre-Wells manipulated timeline?

Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has confirmed that the entire first season of the show is an alternate timeline due to the manipulation of Tom Cavanagh's Harrison Wells.  So will we ever see the original timeline or will the show always exist in the alternate one?  As Matt Letscher Eobard Thawne stated in latter episodes of the show, Thawne went back in time and hijacked Well's life so that he could create the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator much earlier and create The Flash [and subsequently, many of Flash's Rogue Gallery].  But Eddie's (Rick Cosnett) heroic sacrifice means that Wells never even existed so wouldn't that mean the timeline has been reset? Or does the alternate timeline continue on?  Said Kreisber, "Part of the fun of The Flash is when you have people dabbling in sci-fi physics, they’re significantly altering the world. We established in the finale that the entire series of The Flash is, in itself, an alternate timeline that’s been skewed from the real one. Wells setting off the accelerator created all the metahumans, and the results of the singularity will also have long-term effects."

Kreisberg confirmed that both Letscher and Cavanagh will be back in future episodes of the show but will Wells be the actual Harrison Wells or will he be the evil, Eobard Thawne version? Time travel raises a ton of questions and certainly doesn't provide any answers but all of the possibilities for Flash season 2 are very intriguing.

Will you be looking forward to see what direction the show heads when it returns this Fall?

Mirror Master is the next villain on my list of character to show up. They have to do him right though.

it would be cool to se the original timeline and Barry consider to change everything so his world would be like that one, but in the end accept his fate and leave the timeline as it is

Yes1 The Top! I agree.....

I have to admit. When Future Barry stopped himself, it reminded me of Man of Steel with Jonathan Kent:

@ckal

That's a image of Future Barry Allen from the comics. He pretty much started to investigate the Speed Forces with a few run-ins with Present Barry. I have to read more into it though. I got a lot of catching up to do.

You know....I wonder if the singularity could end up combining the multiple timelines we've seen. The one where The Flash is born after the 2020 particle accelerator and the one we see in the first season where The Flash is born after the 2013 particle accelerator. Could explain how Harrison Wells is now Harrison Wells next season.

I just wonder if the singularity could also combine that one other timeline we saw that lasted from the pilot episode to 1x15 "Out of Time".

Yea I didn't think the show would be able to carry on after the wells/reverse flash storyline but the ending opened up thousands of possibilities because of the multiverse can't wait to see what they have in store for us

Anybody realize that Katie Cassidy's dad David Cassidy played Mirror Man, Samuel Scudder on the original Flash show? Maybe he will play Samuel Scudder in season 2 as a mentor to the Evan McCullough Mirror Master.

@sonofodin25

I see that as a possibility, especially when I'm on the boat that believes Reverse-Flash can still return with the other timelines even the first season has created where RF can still exist in, so who knows...perhaps we will see a familiar battle set in the future where Barry travels in time where he witness a future self teaming up with Green Arrow, Atom and Hawkgirl.

@RobinHood

Mirror Master has basically been confirmed already, and I do like the idea that the singularity itself is part of MM's origin.

"I think we definitely want to meet the Mirror Master next year."

They also mention Dr. Alchemy as well.

I forgot all about that article I read. Pretty much summed it up. It's just how the character will be introduced and if he could hold his own like Captain Cold's character.
