Will Ezra Miller be playing two separate versions of Barry Allen in The Flash? That certainly seems to be what his costar Michael Keaton suggested during a recent interview.
While speaking to Jakes Takes about his new movie The Protege, the Batman actor was asked about his 1996 comedy Multiplicity, in which he played several different clones of the same character. Keaton said that a lot of work went into the film, before revealing that Miller will also "play against himself and with himself" in The Flash.
You might recall a series of set photos that made their way online a couple of weeks ago which showed Miller in-costume as Allen shooting a scene with an actor who was dressed in an identical outfit. At the time, this led to speculation that the movie would feature an alternate universe version of the Fastest Man Alive, and it looks like we now have confirmation - but it sounds like Miller will be pulling double-duty, and this guy was simply a stand-in.
Does this mean we'll see an evil version of The Flash as one of the villains? We haven't had any word on a main antagonist for the movie, so it's a definite possibility, although some fans might be disappointed that they didn't go with an incarnation of Reverse-Flash or Zoom.
Andy Muschietti is directing The Flash from a script by Christina Hodson, with Michael Disco and Marianne Jenkins on board as executive producers. Plot details are still under wraps, but the story is expected to be at least partially influenced by the Flashpoint comic book arc.
In addition to Keaton and Miller, Kiersey Clemons will reprise the role of Iris West, while Sasha Calle will make her DCEU debut as Supergirl. Ben Affleck is also expeted to return as the "SnyderVerse" version of the Dark Knight.
The Flash is currently is scheduled to race into theaters on November 4, 2022.
