DC Studios released the first full trailer for The Flash earlier tonight before the Super Bowl got underway, but the official "Big Game" TV spot has now been shared online, and it contains plenty of exciting new footage.
Though shorter than the trailer (it runs about 50 seconds), this promo is almost entirely made-up of brand-new shots, as Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) joins forces with Michael Keaton's Dark Knight, Sasha Calle's Supergirl, and an alternate reality version of himself to battle General Zod (Michael Shannon) and his forces.
We get to see the Scarlet Speedster(s) in action, a room full of the Caped Crusader's Bat-suits, the Girl of Steel preparing for a face-off with Zod, and more.
Check out the spot below along with some new promo art, and let us know what you think.
“Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian... albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?”
Warner Bros./DC Studios will be hoping these teasers are strong enough to counteract some of the negativity surrounding the movie that arose from Miller's behaviour, and we have heard that test audiences reacted very well. James Gunn went so far as to refer to The Flash as "one of the best" superhero movies he's ever seen.
