THE FLASH: Warner Bros. Has Shot A Number Of Cameos With JUSTICE LEAGUE Actors That May Or May Not Be Used

A new report elaborates on recent claims that Henry Cavill has shot a cameo for The Flash, and it sounds like he wasn't the only Justice League star enlisted before those regime changes at DC Studios.

James Gunn and Peter Safran were named the co-CEOs of DC Studios shortly after Black Adam arrived in theaters, with many wondering if the timing was meant to distract from that latest DCEU movie's poor performance. Of course, it also came right after Henry Cavill announced his Superman return following the film's memorable post-credits tease.

The cameo was shot in September, and Deadline has now confirmed that the actor also filmed something for The Flash. He wasn't alone, though, as recent reshoots have also added additional scenes with Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and Supergirl (Sasha Calle).

Original plans called for Cavill's Man of Steel to be written out of the DCEU, and we're told that the scene, while primarily light-hearted in nature, would establish him as still being part of that shared world.

Warner Bros. Discovery is said to be sitting on those cameos until they consult with Gunn and Safran, and with the former giving notes on next year's movies, chances are they've already weighed in. With six months to go before The Flash speeds into theaters, there's always time for reshoots to make it better fit into their vision, of course.

As for whether the plan is to start from scratch with a whole new roster of actors, the trade claims a source has told them, "At no point was there any pre-conceived notions of not continuing with these actors. It all boils down to how The Flash (June 16) and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December 25) do at the box office."

It also sounds like Warner Bros. remains keen on keeping Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

With so many conflicting reports out there, we're beginning to think we have weeks, if not months of speculation before Gunn and Safran's ideas finally start to take shape. We can't imagine they'll keep us waiting until next year's Comic-Con for a slate reveal, but it's always possible.

What do you guys think?
