Deadline reports that Dwight Yoakam - a successful country music singer and actor, previously seen in
Dirty Girl and
Bloodworth - has dropped out of Walt Disney's
Lone Ranger production, set to begin production this month. Originally set to play one of the villains, insiders say that Yoakam dropped out because of a scheduling conflict. The film stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer, and is set to hit theaters May 31st, 2013.
In other casting news,
Deadline also reports that Nonso Anozie - previously seen in
The Grey and
Conan The Barbarian - will play Sergeant Dap in the film adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s best-selling novel
Ender’s Game, also beginning production this month. The plot revolves around
"brilliant young strategist Ender Wiggins (Asa Butterfield),
who is drafted by the International Fleet to save the human race." In addition,
Joyful Noise's Stevie Ray Dallimore and
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2's Andrea Powell have been cast as Ender's parents, John and Theresa. The three join previously announced cast members Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsly and Hailee Steinfeld, among others; Gavin Hood is directing.
Ender's Game is set to hit theaters March 15th, 2013.
