"Industrial Light & Magic Visual Effects Supervisor Tim Alexander and Digital Environments Supervisor Dan Wheaton discuss the effects challenges presented on Gore Verbinski's 'The Lone Ranger.' The film's primary visual effects challenges involved the creation of the hundreds of photorealistic CG environments seen throughout the film's dramatic action sequences." - ILMVisualFX

From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the team behind the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. The Lone Ranger is directed by Gore Verbinski, from a screenplay written by Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio, Eric Aronson and Justin Haythe. The film stars: Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter. Now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

How did this films budget get so out of control? Was there any reason given, as I find it hard to believe that a western can cost around $250 million.
